Anyone suffered with insomnia after failed ivf?

Just that really. I’m about 6 weeks following my first failed cycle and I haven’t had a decent sleep since. It’s like I’ve forgotten how to fall asleep and am getting at most 4 hours a night and some nights I’m awake all night. My work is suffering and I’m considering taking myself off to the gp. I just wondered if anyone else has experienced anything similar? Thanks.

I started getting insomnia during my first IVF and it went on for years even once I was done with IVF. Only this year did I really try and do something about it. Not saying this will work but I cut out ALL caffeine, almost all alcohol (will now have one drink on the odd occasion) and also started taking anti histamines. I also go to bed at the same time every night and get up at same time. If I have a lie in I can’t sleep the next night. Never sleep in the day even if I have a bad night. As long as no one wakes me I usually get 7/8 hours straight now. Whereas before I would sleep for 3 hours and then not be able to get back down.

I know the anti histamine is controversial but it works for me (different ones work to make different people drowsy I use cetirizine).

Thanks for that, I might get some on my way home tonight. I’m so desperate I’m open to any suggestions. I do go to bed at the same time every night And I don’t have masses of caffeine but probably more than I should do. The insomnia has been the worst part of the process for me, well other than the not get pregnant part.

Good luck, not sleeping is really awful. I hope someone else comes along with some other pointers
