HyCoSy tube check tomorrow!

Hi ladies,

Due to a cancellation I'm having a HyCoSy performed tomorrow (it was meant to be in 2 weeks time).

I am SO nervous, partly because of the pain and partly because of what they might find.

Has anyone had one? Iv got some codine to take before but I am a huge wimp!

Also, if anyone does have blocked tubes,did you get symptoms?

We have been trying for about 2 years, all other tests both sides have come back as fine - so now the dreaded Fallopian tube check.

Any info or advice welcome!!

I had one just over 2 years ago. It wasn’t painful but was uncomfortable. I took cocodamol about 1/2 hour before the test and dod the speculum the worst bit. Take a decent absorbency pad with you as you may well leak fluid afterwards.

Hi, I had one in February, it’s wasnt painful at first but iv got blocked tubes so one started to swell which hurt, but as soon as the doctor saw it he stopped and the pain went instantly. I had no symptoms for blockedtubes, but don’t be scared of that outcome. If that’s your issue it’s very easy to overcome with IVF and a simple diagnosis xx
