Miscarriage after HSG worried I can’t conceive again?

Hi my partner and I took years to conceive and after various fertility investigations we had a HSG in July and 2 months later finally got that BFP!!
Unfortunately at 11 weeks and 2 days I miscarried naturally, had a scan to confirm & was sent home as everything had passed and no further treatment was needed. Were going to see my GP in the next fortnight but if anyone could share similar experiences would be great, I’m really worried that it could take years to get pregnant again, and should I ask my GP for refrrral for another HSG? Or has anyone been able to get pregnant naturally again? I’m 37 and stressed about the ticking time bomb that is my fertility declining. Thanks for reading xox

I’m really sorry about your miscarriage. There is some anecdotal evidence that hcg can help some couples. However, I don’t think you need to go for another one.

You could ask your GP what the local nhs policy is in terms of eligibility for funding in your circumstances if you were to go for ivf. If none available, you could consider private treatment. Out of the tests so far, has anything been identified as a possible cause of infertility? Depending on the bigger picture, you might be able to get pregnant naturally or you might struggle.

When it comes to miscarriages, unfortunately there are pretty common so the NHS doesn’t investigate those unless someone has had 3.

Very similar, years trying, had an HGC and conceived the following month, heartbreaking miscarriage at 8 weeks.

Three months later while waiting to start treatment we conceived and I had my DD (I was 36). I then went on to have DS (another miscarriage in between).

Good luck.

Thanks Jojosm2 & saltyseabird. Nothing came back after my fertility investigations and it was only until I was due to see fertility specialist that I fell pregnant before the appointment. At the time my gp said it was very common that women got the BFP they had waited on just before they seen the specialist as they’re more likely to be relaxed knowing they’re getting help or something like that? In my area you get 3 chances at IVF, but hoping for another natural pregnancy before that happens.
Good to hear that your second pregnancy stuck and I’m sorry for ur losses, saltybird. Yeah jojosm2 I had no idea how common miscarriages were until being on here or hearing from friends! Can only pray in the meantime that we will get that BFP again.
Thanks for your replies cox
