Any other midwives out there?

I'm really struggling today. First IVF cycle failed back in April. About to go again next month. I feel like I can't escape pregnancy anywhere and it's really beginning to take its toll now. Anyone else?

I'm not a midwife Jenga0808 but just wanted to say sorry for your failed cycle (in the same boat here) and good luck for your 2nd. Your job must make it incredibly tough for you. x

Hi Jenga, I'm a midwife. So sorry you're struggling, it's absolute shit.
I've had a miscarriage, ectopic and first IVF fresh transfer just failed. Really despairing these days, it's brutal. Fingers crossed for your next cycle. X

Thank you ohbigdaddio. Are you planning another go?

Meadowlark it really is rubbish isn't it? Would love to just run away and change jobs but feel totally trapped.
Today a woman I was seeing in clinic asked me if I had kids. (Nothing new there, must get asked that about 10 times a day!) but when I said no, she just looked at me and said, "well you can't really help me at all then, can you?"
I just wanted to run away Sad

Sorry, pressed post too soon!
So sorry to hear about your cycle too. Did you get any to freeze?

Hello, also not a midwife but work as a GP. Constantly being asked if I have kids and seeing pregnant patients and patients asking for terminations etc. It’s really hard - I’m sure harder for you as a midwife!

We have MFI and I have a raised FSH (so premature ovarian failure despite only being early 30s) so may not respond well to IVF. It’s heart breaking to know it might not happen for us. I’m waiting for an AMH result but fingers crossed been told ICSI IVF in the new year.

I guess on the plus side it’s useful being medical and not scared of needles! Xx

We only found out a couple of days ago that our 1st cycle failed so we need a bit of time to come to terms with that. We have 2 frozen embryos so hope to try again once we feel ready x

Oh Jenga, that's terrible. I'm so sorry. I completely understand, I can't even count how many of those comments I've had. I'm considering leaving the profession as I'm not sure how much more I can handle to be honest. We are lucky two have two frozen so will try again but of course know there's no guarantee. X

I’m not a midwife but just wanted to say sorry you are having such a hard time and what a pile of shit that must be to deal with every day. Salt in the wound probably doesn’t quite sum it up. Hugs & Good luck for your next round.
