Hi
Sorry this is my first ever time posting so apologies if I’m posting in the wrong place, using the wrong terminologies etc etc

So..
Partner and I have been TTC for 18months. I had my AMH tested and it was 1.3. Was told there’s about a 5% chance of conceiving. Donor or IVF were options but I’m overweight so I’d need to lose weight (which I’m doing)

My partner has had his results back and there’s no numbers or anything, the letter just basically says “some of the technical scores on the report were slightly low, so you may wish to repeat the test some time”.

Could someone please shed some light on what this could mean as he’s now completely thinking the worst Sad

Thanks in advance

I would ask for the numbers so you can understand what they really mean.

If he just has slightly low scores, then some lifestyle changes should help. Is he taking a men's conception vitamin? If not, get him on Wellman conception or something similar right away. How much caffeine does drink? If it is a lot then get him to cut down to one or two cups a day maximum (same as recommended for you). I'd also discourage him from having hot baths and not drinking more than once or twice a week. Also giving up smoking if he does that. Do that for three months and then restest.

Thank you so much !
The letter really doesn’t say much and sparked so much fear for us both. He’s not taking any vitamins, so that’s something we need to look into, we both don’t smoke, and drink socially. I’m currently in the process of losing 4.5 stone so I’m hoping that will massively help. It’s still all a minefield for us both, talking of IVF and donors etc so thank you for pointing us in the right direction xxSmile

With low AMH, it might also be worth reading a book called 'it starts with the egg', which will give advice on the best possible supplements you could try too.

Good luck!
