Relationship between AMH, FSH & follicle count

Hi,

I've posted on here previously as I recently had my AMH test done and it was 5 pmol/l. I'm 38 and was told by the fertility specialist that this is on the low side for my age. At the same time as I had the AMH done I had a scan and they counted 14 follicles - 7 on each ovary. I've now had my FSH and LH done and my FSH has come through at 7.2 and LH at 6.3 which I understand are fairly good. I'm so confused about the relationship between all these different tests and what it means for our chances of ivf working. Can anyone provide any insight? Thanks

Hi.

As far as I'm aware, LH and FSH are hormones that encourage ovulation. AMH is your egg reserve.
From your results, it seems you are ovulating but you have low egg reserve.
With these numbers you still have a good chance of success with your own ehha and IVF success- depending which clinic. Unfortunately of course there's no certainties in the world of TTC and Infertility Flowers

Good luck

Thanks Cherry - that's really helpful. I find it all so confusing!
