ovulation predictor kit not working? Clearblue

a few times now I've used the Clearblue ovulation predictor kit with dual hormone indicator and it's displayed a solid (not flashing) smiley and the smiley hasn't disappeared (it's meant to after five mins). It does this sometimes after a day or two of displaying flashing smileys (and maybe normal solid smileys).

It did it yesterday and the smiley was still there when I was testing today so the test hasn't worked as the original smiley won't budge.

I'm hoping this is a sign that i'm mega-fertile as i'm due IVF soon!

It does say it's not suitable for (PCOS) Polycystic Ovary Syndrome....I have polycystic ovaries but don't think I have full-blown PCOS, I suppose I have a mild version of it.

I have contacted the company but I have to wait for them to send me an email before i'm allowed to even ask the question??!!

The pp is correct. Once the solid face is there it stays for 48 hours to indicate peak fertility

Yes, the enclosed leaflet should say that once you have a solid smiley, there is no need to test anymore. Your LH surge has been identified so you will ovulate within the next 24-36 hours. The static smiley will display on the holder for the next 48 hours to indicate peak fertility x

OP, you've probably just ovulated or will do today.

Ps just thinking about it - it might not work with PCOS as you're likely to have elevated levels of LH and it's the LH that gets measured with a still smiley face. Worth asking your doctor about it.

These kits are not suitable for PCO patients either because there can be an elevated level of LH present. The kit simply reads this and gives you a false positive result.
