FET process

I have one frozen embie left over from a very successful and lucky first ivf treatment last November resulting in my baby girl being born in July.

I was just wondering what happens with a FET process? Time length etc.

Will I need the menopur injections all over again and scans/bloods etc.

I haven't been to the hospital for any official info as not looking to use the embryo just yet, just wanted a heads up with the process.

Thanks in advance.

Hi. I've just done an FET cycle. All in all it's taken just over a month. I'm not sure if you'll need blood tests etc as I did my FET a couple of months after EC. (I couldn't have a fresh transfer.) The medication I was given was injections twice a day for first 2 weeks, then a scan to check the lining had thinned. After the scan, the doctor reduced my injections to once a day and told me to take oestrogen tablets 3 times a day to build up the lining. I then had to go back a week later to check the lining was thick enough. A week after that I had my embryo transfer. Now I'm waiting...patiently haha! x

Forgot to add....5 days before the transfer the injections stop and the pessaries begin. Medication continues until pregnancy test, and after if it's positive x

Estrogen tablets from day 2, scan day 12 and progesterone pessaries from day 14. Transfer on day 19. I wasn't required to downregulate first. No injections was bliss! Good luck x

I'm starting my FET soon. My protocol is also tablets from day 2 and then pessaries. Transfer at day 19 or so. No injections.

Thank you for your stories ladies.
I don't have periods due to pituitary gland failure so not sure where I would stand on which cycle day to transfer.
I guess I'll just wait until im ready and get more info nearer the time.

Depends if medicated cycle or natural

Natural goes with your period so day one contact clinic they will tell you what amount of progynova tablets to take and when to increase. You will have a scan around 12-13 to check lining

If all looking ok then continue with progynova tablets and then add pesseries 5days before transfer / which will be around day 19/20'of cycle

Will probably be medicated as I don't have a natural cycle.
Thank you
