Hi Ladies! Finally I will have my first IVF treatment as soon as my next cycle starts which I expect it to be more or less end of September/beginning of October. My periods are very irregular so I never know exactly. My consultant suggested antagonist protocol which I will receive in post soon. I am extremely excited but then realistic about the fact that it might not be successful first time.

How are you feeling ladies? When are you due to start your Ivf Journey? Fingers crossed for all of us fighters;-)

Hi Ladies!

I was with my friend today & talking about this really supportive thread so hi from her!

@goodluckjonathan76, have u spoken to your clinic about the pessaries, because cyclogest in IVF is usually vaginal which makes sense as that's where the action is & where u need the help & seemingly where most ppl here have been using their pessaries so maybe worth a check just to ensure yours aren't the same?

hanim thank you for the hair colouring info! Good to know!

I don't like google but stare at all things baby Sad

Hanim79 · 09/10/2017 19:55

Hey minster how you doing? The pessaries can be done front or back depending on the ladies choice it says it on the box aswell. I do mine at the front. Horrid things but panty liners are a god send xx

Hanim79 · 09/10/2017 19:55

Mine are cyclogest x x

Minster2012 · 09/10/2017 20:04

Well you learn something new every day here!! No offence to goodluck but why would you go back!! Blush honestly the things we you ladies have to do to try for a baby when other people get drunk and have one night stands just have sex normally 🤣

Hanim79 · 09/10/2017 20:11

My clinic said that some ladies think that it hurts the embryo so they like to do it at the back but she said it doesn’t as that in the fanny is less evasive as sort of like a tampon.
And yes honey I get so cross about other women who go out and shag and then bam they are pregnant. I know a girl who is so happy to be pregnant with her second child as more benfits and she won’t have to pay bedroom tax. You can imagine what I said to her can’t you..... 👊 xx

ElizabethCatherine · 09/10/2017 20:29

@Hanim79 did the clinic say when is safe to use hair dye? Is it after 12weeks?

I’ve just had EC today. They told me it was going to take 15-30 mins and mine took an hour. It was difficult and I had 50 follicles so they had a lot of work to do. I was told they retrieved 11 eggs and will get a call tomorrow about fertilisation rates. 11 is a great number and I am happy about that but 50 follicles, I was expecting a bit more, I guess not all were mature follies and I had to be kept on close watch with doses so if all matured I guess I would be OHSS.
Recovering has been tough. I am SO sore. How long did you ladies take before you could walk properly and not feel as sore by?

Hanim79 · 09/10/2017 20:40

Hi elizabethcatherine clinic said for me to ask them once I’ve had my scan, they probably don’t want to commit to an answer over the phone.
Wow lots of follicles. I had 11 eggs, miracle really as all from my right ovary my left didn’t even produce a single follicle (which I expected) I was sore after EC but I got an early night and slept. Some other ladies have suffered tho, get plenty of rest and take it easy. I was walking around the next day briefly but maybe I was too preoccupied with my back and shoulder pain that I suffer with and of course only being able to take paracetamol doesn’t touch it x x big hugs hope your being looked after x

Minster2012 · 09/10/2017 20:41

Oh yes hanim bless that girl with a slap in the face from all of us will you!! To cheer myself up sometimes I look on Pinterest for funny IVF quotes and there are many quotes that make me giggle that I'd love to say back to people every time I get a baby bomb or when people ignorantly say "do you not have kids yet then?"...& I feel like saying "no, I think we must be doing it in the wrong position or something?" Or "no, my dog's allergic" or to really shut them up something like "well it seems my private parts are for entertainment only" Grin

Hanim79 · 09/10/2017 20:44

Omg minster I look up those quotes aswell as I got so fed up. The girl puts her head down if she sees me in town. My dearest friend has not long had a baby and it’s the first time I’ve seen her as couldn’t bear to be around her so pregnant I was such a mess as everyone is baby bombing. I even came off Facebook because all I was seeing was baby scans! X x

Minster2012 · 09/10/2017 20:45

Sorry elizabeth my post seems highly inappropriate after your post but I was writing it at the same time! I hope your 11 eggs all do well fertilising, don't be disheartened, and you will feel sore after all that rummaging, just chill out & rest up xx

Minster2012 · 09/10/2017 21:13

hanim I was like that with DSIL who got pregnant v quickly after marriage & is the youngest & always said she would wait for a few years so was v unexpected & v close to home (1st grandchild, we see v often, wouldn't be able to avoid pregnancy talk) so I knew would be a nightmare. My friends I could deal with as all expected & could avoid if necessary but MIL I knew had been waiting for grandchild. I was inconsolable as so unexpected & unavoidable even my best friend & now surrogate remembers having a 'crisis meeting' with another friend on how to get me through.

Being honest with the family about my shock, being happy for them but being jealous, & dealing with my emotions allowed me to process, regroup & then join in the celebrations just a little later than everyone else which everyone understood & now DSIL & I are closer than ever.

A quote I found solace with is that it's devastating when people announce pregnancies not because you are not happy for them, because you are, but because you are more sad for yourself. And that's true, but you keep going!

And fortunately I now have a fab relationship with a darling nephew who is cute as a button and who would love a little cousin to play with so enough wallowing!! Smile

Hanim79 · 09/10/2017 21:18

minster you made me she’s a tear, it sounded like you was feeling just like me. You are so strong. And your friend is amazing. You will have your dreams come true and that pain will be a distant memory. Life can be so cruel but what doesn’t kill us makes us stronger x x big hugs x

Minster2012 · 10/10/2017 08:45

We all just get on with stuff, that's what women do Smile

Goodluckjonathan76 · 10/10/2017 10:24

Hi all. I just got an update from the clinic. All 4 embryos are doing well and all are top quality. They said that cannot select one at this stage so will keep all until day 5 or day 6. Bit worried though that some/all will die before then. Should I push for a day 3 transfer (today)? I also still have really bad tummy pains. Does anyone know if this is normal 3 days after transfer?

Minster2012 · 10/10/2017 12:42

Goodluck having 4 high quality ones is excellent & most places push for transfer at 5 days so hopefully it would work best but 4 high quality at this stage is great! X

Hanim79 · 10/10/2017 12:58

4 embies is great goodluckjonathan I had a 3 day transfer as clinic felt that my embie was good enough and not necessarily to wait til at 5...: they really do no what they are taking about and some are 3 days some after x x

Goodluckjonathan76 · 10/10/2017 13:18

Thanks all. Just worried that we may not have any left at day 5 but guess we have to go with what they recommend. He said we should expect to lose one or two but that this is the best way of identifying the strongest embryos. He said that all 4 embryos have at least 10 cells and 0-5% fragmenation which he says is excellent. Just feels weird as I had assumed they would be put back in on day 3.

Hanim79 · 10/10/2017 13:48

My embie had 8 cells day 3 I honk so yours is super duper. They know what they are doing but it’s natural to be worried Hun x x

Aliona19 · 10/10/2017 14:22

Hi ladies. I am having EC on Friday, was wondering if you can tell me if it’s easy enough to do trigger injection yourself?xx

Hanim79 · 10/10/2017 14:26

Hi Aliona the trigger is similar to the ones you’ve been giving yourself daily if your on the same cycle as I was. It sounds scary but I didn’t think mine was the bad at all x

Minster2012 · 10/10/2017 14:37

goodluck I was also still in discomfort for about a week after EC so it's not unusual and they had to rummage in me too so I think if they have to muddle around inside it makes for a slightly more lengthy recovery bit if does ease off! Xx

Aliona19 · 10/10/2017 14:54

Hanim79
Thanks, makes me feel bit better. Non of the injections hurt me at all but for some reason trigger injection terrifies me. Just think it’s odd to give it yourself in the bum 😁

Filipinam · 10/10/2017 15:03

Trigger injection at 10pm tonight and egg collection on Thursday morning!;-) anyone in the same boat?;-) It is really happening;-)

Minster2012 · 10/10/2017 15:14

Aliona if it's any consolation I have my contraception injection every 3 months in the top of my bum!! So bum injections fine!!

Aliona19 · 10/10/2017 15:45

I ll just have to suck it up and deal with it 😅 I am sure the worst pain is yet to come
