London fertility clinic recommendations please

Hi there, I'm looking for recommendations for a private fertility clinic in London. I'm 42, mother to an 18 month old, and trying for a second. As you can imagine, time is of the essence. I've been trying for about 8 months. My first took 3 months. I've had tests on the NHS but can't get an interpretation of them until my next appointment in October. The results may show nothing is wrong but even if that's the case I want to discuss ways to speed up the process. I'd love any suggestions of clinics that people think highly of. I don't have time to waste with a clinic that acts slowly so that's a key factor for me. Thanks so much!

I went with CRGH (who used to be on the Gray's Inn Road but have now moved to somewhere near the Portland). My doctor was Dr. Saab.

Good luck!

Here's the website.

We're about to start with Lister - have our first appointment in a few weeks. I can't recommend them as haven't even met them as yet but have heard positive stories in the main and have a friend that had success on both rounds with them. Good luck.

We're cycling with Zita West. It's a small, friendly, successful clinic with a holistic approach. They are very lovely.

Hi I did 2 cycles with the Lister and now have two DDs. My first round took some time but that was only because it took awhile for my eggs to grow to the right size (IIRC it took 18 days of injections). 2nd round was a lot faster - 8 days of injections.

I had very good experiences both times.

I had secondary infertility and went to the Lister. Had one round of IVF which was successful and now have dd2. Would recommend them highly.

I went to CRGH to conceive my DS. They were a bit disorganized at first but seem to ha e improved their admin since moving to Portland Street. Would recommend.

Thanks everyone. So good to hear other people's views on the clinics. I had heard good things about the Lister and am tempted by it but it's so difficult for me to get to and given how many appointments one has to have, I'm not sure it would work for me. Struggling to see past CRGH's location and success rates. I've heard they pick and choose who they take on so will be interesting to see what they say to me if i have a consultation, given my age (42).

Does anyone have a view on whether it's worth getting the ultrasound scan at Create, which is part of the initial consultation? I guess it means you can get a diagnosis quicker?

I know two people who were 41 and 42 respectively who went to CRGH. One successful first time (twins) and one successful on the second fresh cycle (third transfer) and due to give birth a couple of months before turning 43. They seemed to move very quickly once treatment protocols had been decided, and overall they seemed happy with the clinic in the run up to the successful outcome. I had some of my NHS treatment with them as they partner with UCL and found them to be very good. Only gripe was my appointments were always much later than the given time so ended up spending lots of time in the waiting room!

I also had success first cycle with the lister (dr Parikh)., with one fresh and one frozen cycle (3-year gap).
We had male and female factor infertility and did IVF with ICSI.
For the frozen cycle, I flew back and forth from Geneva where we currently live. I wouldn't let location decide which clinic you choose.
Best of luck!

My friend and I both had secondary infertility - went to see Geoffrey Trew. He was amazing. We both have second babies... I think he does private work out of Harley Street and the Sainsbury Wing in Hammersmith .

Ilovewillow · 31/08/2017 14:14

We used Mr Khalaf at Guys and St Thomas' - he deals with private as well as NHS. We went privately and he is great. We used him for IVF for our first child and FET for our second.

FlipperSkipper · 31/08/2017 14:18

My son is a Lister baby, I'd recommend them. They have satellite clinics for scans, it might be worth seeing if one of those is convenient for you.

habotime · 23/06/2019 18:47

I really could not recommend CRGH - we are leaving treatment midway through as service has been so awful.

phreedam · 15/07/2019 10:32

Hi @habotime do you mind me asking what happened at CRGH? We have had one failed cycle and one cycle that got cancelled days before egg collection and are trying to decide who to go to now for our next cycle. I've whittled it down to Lister and CRGH so really would appreciate any feedback- thanks in advance!

I've DM'd you
