Am I able to request to see a different fertility doctor

Hi I've been under a fertility specialist since March 2017 we just don't seem to be getting anywhere or any answers, as soon as we are in the room with him it's as though he wants to mumble and then send us on our way.

I also took unprescribed clomid ( stupid I know ) for 5 months last year, he's wanting to put me on them again but I really don't want to do it again. As it didn't even work 1st time round and I took it the same amount of days he's wanting me to do the exact same.

Any advise would be brilliant.

I also have a blocked Fallopian tube so wondering if he should be trying to fix that before putting me on anything ??

Are you private if so go to whichever clinic you want!

I would ask for a different doctor whether you're NHS or private. If private, you'll have a very wide choice. If NHS, you might be a bit limited in your options but it's probably just too frustrating persevering with this one.

Having said that, with only one tube working, even if the Clomid works and you ovulate regularly, it is likely to take a lot longer to get pregnant than 5 months so you should definitely give it a go again.

Thanks for your replies girls

I'm under the nhs, it'll be our first baby together when it happens 💝

I'm ringing a hospital called Jessops later as I've heard some really amazing reviews on a nhs fertility doctor there, who's been on a personal level with his patients. I'll let you know what they say later xx

Hi Sarah

My fertility doctor is also awful, totally negative about anything and everything me and DH. Bluntly told us we cannot conceive without ivf but cannot offer ivf as I'm too old (was 35 at the time). No helpful advice at all apart from she is happy to see us in her private clinic. I spoke to my GP to refer me to a different consultant. I have recently received my choose and book to choose an alternative consultant.

I hope it all works out for you
