5cm cyst on Right ovary follicle question

Hi ladies

July 2017
Hsg showed right Fallopian tube blocked
Transvaginal scan showed 5cm cyst
Left ovary had follicles
Also showed I don't have pcos
Blood work taken showed I hadn't ovulated.

Yesterday I had a ultrasound
Nurse says I definitely don't have a 5cm cyst no more ( phew )
Left ovary absolutely fine, showing 1 follicle

She said that I'm due to ovulate or already have.

I'm confused as dr said blood showed no ovulation but I have follicles ? Could the blood tests be wrong ?

I'm on waiting list to have cyst removed and investigation with my blocked tube.

It's such a long process and I'm getting really down,

That's really tough. This whole process is just the worst.

Maybe you didn't ovulate in July but you did this month! If one side hasn't recovered from the cyst, only one side may be ovulating and that would explain alternating months of ovulating and not ovulating.

Or, being pessimistic, I believe the dominant follicle needs to rupture to release the egg. So the follicles might be there but not releasing an egg for some reason. But there's absolutely no point speculating about completely hypothetical negative scenarios!

Fingers crossed that you will get your next appointment soon and they can get to the bottom of it.
