Cycle length after failed IVF

I had a cycle of IVF in June which failed and AF arrived about a week after egg transfer. My next cycle has been going on ages - im CD37 today and always had a 28-30 day cycle previous to that. Has anyone experience a much longer cycle immediately after IVF? If so, how long did it take to get back to normal? Thanks!

I had a 41 day cycle after my first failed cycle (normally 26) so I'm afraid it can lengthen your cycles. I then did my second ivf cycle immediately after so not sure how long it would take to reset. That cycle failed too and I'm now on day 29 with no AF symptoms so expect the same will happen again.
It's such a pain as I'm waiting to start a FET so if it's going to come I wish it'd hurry up!

When do you think you ovulated? It will be your follicular phase that has lengthened, luteal should be unaffected, so your AF should still come 14 days after ovulation. My cycle following failed ivf was 5 days longer, I knew instantly as my normal ovulation signs were 5 days later than normal. It will be important if you do your scratch next cycle, to know when you ovulate as scratch is done 7 days after ovulation.

I usually ovulate on CD15 like clockwork. This cycle, I was getting 'high' fertility on clearblue dual ovulation tests from CD14 to CD23 at which point I stopped testing. I don't have any signs that AF is on the way, SO frustrating!

Ah, so you don't get ovulation symptoms? I've never used ovulation sticks, I can practically feel my follicle pop when I ovulate, lol! Fingers crossed AF shows up soon for you Flowers

I don't think I ovulated after either of my ivf cycles :(
I haven't felt ovulation pain since I stopped clomid.

Geeup, I'm on CD40 now and my clinic has suggested that AF doesn't show up in the next few days I could start on a course of Norethisterone which I would take for 2 weeks and then AF should start within 7 days. I don't really want to do that as it's just delaying my FET, but I've no idea when it would show up otherwise. I've been feeling like AF is coming for the last week but I normally only get symptoms the day or two before so I don't know what to think. Are you still waiting to start your next cycle? Are you going to do a medicated or natural FET?

Arghhh I feel your pain. Still waiting here soon and cm is just creamy. No impending AF signs at all. So frustrating.
I will do a medicated cycle - with my cycle now being so long and unpredictable, I wouldn't be confident to trust the timing of ovulation to do unmedicated. Mega sigh.

Ps just looked it up. My cycle after ivf cycle 1 was 41 days. Am on cd31 this time so guessing maybe 10 days more to wait...?

Blueroses99 · 19/08/2017 17:23

My first cycle after failed IVF was 42 days - then went back to normal 30-31 days thereafter. I then had 3 normal cycles before my next fresh round (no frosties for FETs). I just remember the first period being excruciating, ultra hormonal/emotional and painful so just be aware that might happen. Hope you don't have to wait too much longer so you can get started with the FETs
