Dear all! I have finally got referred to my chosen Ivf clinic in Eastbourne with a satellite clinic in goring. I will see Mr Chui and I assume he will lead me through my treatment
. Has anyone got any experience of working with him? I've read info on him online but I'm looking for other people experience on here. Thank you!

Hi Filipinam, I am also under Mr Chui at the Esperance and I recently had my first IVF cycle. I read some reviews before my treatment where some ladies had described him as being quite blunt and as not having a very good bedside manner, however I found him to be exactly as I imagined a consultant to be.

He is very knowledgeable and experienced in his field and he will tell you the truth; he doesn't sugarcoat the situation which we found helped us manage our expectations. I have low ovarian reserve, needed a high dose of stimms and did not expect to get many eggs, which he was honest about from the start. As it turned out we got more than we thought we would and he was very pleased with the result. We also expected to need to use ICSI, however on the day they found they didn't need to use it but we were glad we were warned about the possibility of its use.

Throughout the course of my treatment I only saw Mr Chui 3 times: the first consultation, egg retrieval day and our follow up appointment (as sadly our first cycle failed). The vast majority of the appointments are carried out by the fertility nurses who are lovely and very experienced, and communicate with Mr Chui if for example dosages need adjusting. Despite the sad outcome for our first cycle I am very comfortable going back to the Esperance for another go later this year.

If you visit the clinic at their Eastbourne site have a look out for the photo on the stairs of Mr Chui doing his 'jazz hands' lol.

Sorry for the long rambling post, hope it helps!

Awww thank you so much for your reply! I have researched him and watch some videos of him and indeed he does come across as a confident and knowledgeable person and this is what I want I guess:-) could you tell me what was discussed/ checked during the first consultation with him? I wish you all the best during your second cycle soon!
