Hi I thought I create a group for those who are currently awaiting their next cycle. I've met some really supportive people on here and thought this could help us stay in contact. A brief background for me:
Me:38
DH:38
TTC 7 years, 2 early miscarriages last was in 2013, finally referred for tests last summer. First IVF cycle failed last week. Waiting for cycle no.2

Hi Karen. I'll jump on if that's ok.
I'm 35
DH 33
Two failed fresh cycles (2nd one ended in a chemical)
Next AF due 14th but will probably be late due to the IVF last month then I'll have the scratch and start downregging early September for a FET. Have 4 in the freezer.
Feeling low after a baby bomb this morning from a friend on her second and expecting another any day now from a friend ttc their third.

Hi Gee nice to hear from you, sorry about the CP from your last cycle. Have you had your follow up appointment yet? We had ours yesterday and I've come away feeling really encouraged. 1st cycle wasn't great, so plenty of room for improvement. I have an amh of 16.3 but I just didn't respond to stims, got 2 mature eggs after 14 days of stims, 1 fertilised but it didn't stick. I'm now going to be doing the short protocol with icsi. Also was told that I shouldn't have bleed before otd so next time they're giving me mega progesterone, 2x pesseries 3 times a day. My DH laughed saying my meds would have to be delivered on a fork lift!!

That's really interesting about the progesterone. I bled early on both my cycles but when I asked my clinic about it they said one twice a day was more than enough Hmm will push it again at my follow up appointment at the end of the month. Must add to list of qus!!

I was surprised when she said it could be an issue and she doesn't want to chance it next time. She also took blood to test my thyroid and today I've been told that my tsh is high and i have under active thyroid. I've now been prescribed medication.

Karen, please may I ask what that daily progesterone dose will be? What's the strength of each of your pessaries? Thanks!

79Karen · 04/08/2017 19:17

Hi Scottish not totally sure yet as it won't be until next month but she said it would be cyclogest x 2 morning and evening and crinone midday. I only had crinone 8% once a day for my last cycle.

I'm NHS but I have my consultations and scans are at a private satellite clinic closer to home so there is a bit of conflict over what NHS clinic allow and what the private clinic suggest. She wanted to give me progesterone injections but the NHS clinic won't allow it, even when we offered to pay the extra.

Hi Karen I thought I'd update. I had my follow up consultation and we've agreed I'll downreg in Nov and do the FET early in Jan. Seems ages away but we have to work round a long haul flight in Nov so can't go earlier.
They're giving me progesterone pessaries three times a day this time although only one. I worry that's not enough and I should have two each time like you. I wish there was some up to date research I could try and persuade them with. So weird how much clinics vary Sad

geeup · 31/08/2017 07:13

Ps my clinic said there's no evidence the progesterone injections have any beneficial effect over pessaries except in Northern America. My consultant suggested that may be because of higher BMIs there.

Hi Gee nice to hear from you, so are doing a fresh cycle in Nov and freezing till new year? I'm gearing up for cycle 2, have my appointment next week and hopefully start again in a few weeks, short protocol for me this time so interested to see if it makes a difference. With the injections I think my consultant thought it would be easier than all the pesseries?

That is interesting about the injections being easier. Definitely worth a shot if they'll give you them!! I'd certainly try.
I'm doing a FET in new year. It's just that as my clinic make you down reg, if I start in November I won't be ready for transfer till early Jan. It takes ages!!

Hi Karen & Geeup - can I join you in in between land? Gee knows my situation from the June/July board - been ttc #2 for over 2.5 years - I've 2 fresh one frozen (only had one embryo frozen) failures behind me and now considering a 3rd fresh, and depending on who can do it soonest, may be changing clinic (time is not on my side at 40). Feeling a bit lost at the moment as drs all seem to think it's just bad luck so far...
like Gee I bled early both fresh cycles and so find what you are saying interesting Karen re upping progesterone as I asked repeatedly about it after 1st cycle, but they insisted 1 crinone a day was enough... hmmm.
Anyway, hope you both have success soon - surely it's time our luck changes??!

geeup · 04/09/2017 08:01

Hi @Hobbes39 sorry you're feeling low. It's so hard during this in between point - we can totally empathise.
I'm trying hard to find positives. Having not ovulated after either of my fresh cycles, I had a positive opk yesterday so at least my cycle has returned so we can "try" naturally until my FET not that it's worked for 2.5 years.

Hobbes39 · 04/09/2017 17:50

Hi Geeup - I think we seem to be having similar responses to things - I was a mug and spent a fortune on an Ava bracelet after our first fresh round, which basically measures your heart rate and temp overnight as can tell from that whether you are ovulating... anyway, from the data it got, I didn't ovulate the 2 cycles right after my 2nd fresh cycle, or for 1 cycle after our FET... but data seems to show I'm about to this month (2nd cycle after failed FET), so we can try naturally this month Hmm.. I am def in the frame of mind about it all of not being sure why we are bothering with that though! Can I ask, has anyone had mid cycle spotting since cycles? Never had it before, but had it after the 2nd fresh cycle, and now after FET and it's getting me down, as I still feel kind of 'messed about with' down there - which isn't conducive to trying naturally Blush. Anyone see the news about duchess of Cambridge? I'm not jealous at all at their fertility! Sad

79Karen · 04/09/2017 18:51

Hi Hobbes sorry that your previous cycles haven't worked, the whole luck thing is so frustrating, we were told that with my previous miscarriages but it doesn't really help does it! I have my pre-2nd cycle appointment on weds and will hopefully get my timetable for everything, interested to see how the short protocol will work, I'm really hoping I have a better response this time round. I've not had mid cycle spotting but my whole system felt messed up afterwards. And yes not jealous at all of the duchesses fertility!! Imagine if she was infertile! I wonder if they made her have tests before they got married to make sure she could produce an heir?
