Can anyone recommend any good books to help prepare for treatment? I'm quite laid back about it all considering but I'm interested in a good read to help me prepare mentally for things more? & maybe something I can give to my mum to help her understand things?

From a practical viewpoint the book "It Starts with the Egg" is a good read for anyone considering fertility treatment. It gives suggestions with scientific backing of what you can do to improve egg quality and maximise your chances of successful fertility treatment. It is worth a read.

In terms of the emotional impact of IVF, I didn't read any books as such but read the leaflets provided by my clinic explained the process. Maybe you could give these to your mum to read? When I was in the process I found a wealth of support support and advice from reading boards and forums like this one. It helps to feel that you're not alone (as in my experience IVF can feel like a lonely journey with very people understanding it).

Good luck x

I've just read Izzy Judd's book Dare To Dream. It was a bit fluffy and not much medical / science detail but good from an emotional perspective

Get a life: the his and hers survival guide to IVF by Richard Mackney and Rosie Bray. Very useful reading and different chapters for the female and male written in their point of view.
