No Day 3/21 tests but been referred?

Hello,

We have just been referred for fertility investigations. I had my baseline bloods done 6 months ago but didn't have day 3/21 tests although they had checked my progesterone fsh etc when I went back for referral I thought they would request them now but they have referred without although have been asked to get hep and hiv bloods done along with 2 swabs......

Anyone had a similar experience? Or been referred without day 3/21 bloods?

My GP has arranged day 1-3 bloods but says my area no longer does day 21 bloods?! Which I hadn't heard of. I asked about an AMH but they also said they don't do this either. Strange how it seems to vary so much!

I was referred to the subfertility unit without any tests being done beforehand.

Any test results done over 6 months ago should now be discounted; you need up to date test results. If progesterone and FSH (LH should have been checked too in conjunction with FSH) were done on the "wrong" days then the test result is meaningless.

I was referred before after 21 day test, no further tests conducted. When I got to my first appointment they asked why my tests hadn't been done and sent me away

I'm not sure why it'd be necessary to do the bloods before referring you on. If you've been trying for a long time and haven't had any luck then you should be referred regardless. The bloods would only shed some light on very few aspects of your fertility but you'd need proper investigations regardless - you could have the perfect bloods and still 0% chance of natural pregnancy.

Come to think of it, I've never had day 21 bloods done ever. Our infertility problems have been diagnosed and we only have a chance through IVF/ICSI so the blood test would be irrelevant anyway.
