Feeling bitter

Went for my first infertility appointment today. All went ok but waiting to go in was horrendous! I know the gynaecologist/maternity services are closely linked but sitting in a waiting room full of pregnant women when you are struggling to conceive is cruel. I watched happy couples come and go and felt so envious and on the verge of tears at times and was close to walking out. Didn't help that DH is away on business so I had to go alone. Infertility sucks and I hope those pregnant women know how lucky they are.

They do know how lucky they are. No harm in reminding them though. The shared waiting room is unfair.

Wishing you success Feisty. SmileCake

I was saying this very thing to a friend of mine today.

This morning after nearly 3 years of infertility I was sat in the antenatal ultrasound waiting room for my 12 week scan. A year and half ago I was sat in the very same room at the beginning of fertility journey and initial tests. It was a very strange feeling.

I felt exactly like you did at the time and mentioned it to my gynecologist, which she did sympathetically say gynaecology covers a wide range of issues and conditions.

Coming out, I put my scan picture in my bag and tried to look neutral as I could incase people with fertility issues were there. It is very cruel Flowers

I completely agree with you. I tried to get pregnant for almost 3 years and the only time I've been pregnant so far ended in mc. I had to go in for blood tests and was sat with all the pregnant women whilst I had to wait. It was heartbreaking.
Fingers crossed you get your wish very soon Flowers

I had this, waiting for my hideous HyFoSy scan if a waiting room full of happy smiling couples with very obvious bumps, trying not to cry. It felt unnecessarily cruel Flowers
