In tears after appointment with doctor

Just left my doctor, she told me that the result of the Scan I did shows that I have blocked tubes. She said the only option I have is to have an IVF. I am a primary teacher with no saving and my age is above the free IVF band. I don't know what to do. she was not helpful at all in our conversation. When i asked if their was a way of removing the blockage she only said a surgery but that doesn't guaranty that it would be alright and that I will conceive.

That's rubbish patient care. You need to see another GP or fertility specialist to consider your options. Also, most reputable IVF clinics offer free initial consultations.

How upsetting for you, the news doesn't sound like it was delivered in a sensitive manner. Have you got someone that can come over for a cuppa and give you some support? Let the news sink in and in a few days seek some advice, with regards to surgery and other options. Try to keep optimistic and positive, I am sure they will be someone with the right skills to help you. Good luck.

Thanks, I have been frantically searching for IVF clinic and reading up information. As primary teacher I don't know how I could ever get such money as my take home is not even enough to take care of bills.

I registered on a crowdfunding website just now and hopefully I will get people to help me raise the money. It so wrong that my age determines the help I could get. If I had know I could have started earlier in my life to have my baby.

As you are a newbie I should warn you about the spam posters posing as infertile people on here, advertising a dodgy clinic in Kiev, Ukraine. You can imagine how terrible their clinic must be if they have to use such tactics to get new clients. It must be the worst clinic in the world. Usually their posts are terrible English but sometimes they use copy and paste to make their posts a bit better but they are still slightly off so you can still tell. Anyway, good luck!
