Hi, just wondering if anyone has been in similar circumstances we tried for our first baby for 3 years I have pcos and was told I'd need ivf but lost 3 stone for the treatment and got pregnant naturally! During my c section I had to have a tube cauterised do to bursts cysts. I am now thinking we might like to start thinking about a second, would be just go straight to the doctors or do you have to try for a certain time?

They suggest ttc for a year... but bear in mind you will not be eligible for IVF on the NHS and would have to go private, in which case, I think you can go at any time. You would be eligible for tests and non-IVF treatment (clomid and such) on the NHS after 12 months ttc.

Thank you I just want to have a think about my options because I was in quite a dark place while ttc my first baby so not sure if I am mentally ready, but do really want a second

If you've previously had fertility problems you don't have to wait a year. Also, while ivf may not be availible, tests should be and maybe things like clomid too. Good luck!

Thank you Coastal, so do I just arrange an appointment with my GP?

i think you'd have to find a private clinic and get an initial consultation. NHS won't do anything until you've been ttc for a year. You may find they do some tests but mine wouldn't do any at all.
