IVF Clinic- poor admin

I have booked in with my IVF clinic for my first round of treatment. I have to do my first day 21 appointment. But I am already feeling nervous about my clinic.

The consultant is approachable, knowledgeable and friendly but the clinics administration is frankly shoddy. No letters sent after my first consultation, no ID documents taken, they even didn't take payment after my first appointment. I have chased these up and still no luck. I have had to phone the consultant and ask what the next steps were because I have received no letters to confirm.

It is a new clinic and the consultant has said they are having staffing issues with regards to administration but I am nervous about the actual treatment now. Will my egg collection/ET be messed around if they can't send a letter??

Do any of you ladies have similar experiences, or does administration not reflect the quality of the actual treatment?? Is it a warning sign??

I think having faith in a clinic is really important - it's such a hard process emotionally that you need to feel like the people in the clinic are doing the best they can for you.

We had similar issues with our clinic (same sex couple - my partner originally had treatment, but it wasn't working so we switched to me having the treatment and they mixed our notes/test results up!), however they were entirely administration issues. The clinical team were amazing and the last round (the 6th one between us!) finally worked.

I would recommend doing some research on the clinic and seeing what other people say, and then trust your own gut - how important is it to you that they are organised? If it makes you lose faith in their processed WRT your treatment maybe it's worth you looking elsewhere?

Thanks Rogue. The clinic is new so I guess there will be teething issues and we both liked the consultant and he answered our queries promptly.

I hope it is just admin issues! My other half will speak to them tomorrow and express our concerns, hope this provides us with some reassurance.
