Bloods= High testosterone, PCOS??
MadHorseLady1 · 19/07/2017 11:34
Hey. Looking for some advice
I had a mc in Jan 16 at 6 weeks, everything cleared up in March. Since then I have not had af, nor fell pregnant.
I finally bit the bullet and went to my gp, I went and had bloods done which came back with showing high levels of testosterone which he said could cause pcos, he said that i'll get a call within 2 weeks for a scan and left the conversation at that.
Has anyone else been in the same boat? It was very difficult to get any other information from him out of a 2 min phone call.
Want to stay away from google...
Any help/personal advice would be wonderful.
Thank you

Hey,
Just thought I'd let you know I have PCOS and it all started with bloods showing higher testosterone.
I went to the scan and it showed the 'cysts' on my ovaries. After that I was referred to a gyn at the hospital ... who had me go for a HSG – Came back fine and now I've been given clomid...
I wasn't having periods at all since coming off the pill – So I had to take northisterone to bring some one occasionally.
Hope you get the answers your looking for!

Hi, your symptoms truly sound like PCOS, which affects around 10% of women of child-bearing age. But it would be prudent to wait for the confirmation from your gp. However, you should not be too worried because even if the results come back positive, this is something treatable.

Im in the same position but have to wait a month for an ultra scan!
I was on the pill four years. Came off it and ive had three periods in 7 months. Went to the drs for a blood test and they said it could be pco. I was told I have high testosterone 12% should be 4% in people. Waiting for an ultrasound next month to see if I have any cysts on my overies. And another blood test to test lh and fsh when im in day 2-5 of my cycle. Hopefully its nothing and I just have high testosterone.
