Hi everyone! This is my first post, I have looked on here for so long for advice and info and everyone seems so friendly I figured I'd give it a whirl! I've come home a little lost and shell shocked today....my partner and I are trying to conceive and have been referred for IVF, I was just wondering if anybody could help with a couple of things....I have been taking chlomid for 5 months, my day 21 readings were always thru the roof and we were actively trying LOTS every month....I miscarried 2 years ago....after much pestering the gyny ward about how long they would just keep giving me chlomid for they sent me for a Fallopian tube scan....they discovered one of my tubes is blocked....so they said there is nothing they can really do to unblock it and referred me for IVF.....I then got a letter in the post today referring me for IVF and with results of my AMH....there isn't an exact figure it just says "less than 1pmol"....I looked this up and am devastated, all I can find pretty much points to having to have a donor egg with such a low figure....have cried all day and my partner will be destroyed....is there anyone can shed any light on what "less than 1" means, does it mean I have no eggs? Thank you, feel so emotional, the flowers u sent made me blub, but in a nice way! ❤️ I've told my mum....she sounded heartbroken for me but covers it up well, tries to pick me up when I'm low bless her, I've told my partner, he can't really talk about, pretty much devastated the same as me but will take himself away to his cave now and not really be able show any feelings 😢Xxx

Littlebit I can totally sympathise with you. I got my Amh back at level of 1 and was devastated. I can safely say out of the last year of trying and investigations and disappointments that was the hardest thing to hear. I got my results over the phone and have since complained to clinic as I think getting that news needs to be done face to face with explainations.

Amh of 1 is low BUT it is only one piece of the jigsaw. They also look at afc and lh/fsh bloods. Amh indicates your ovarian reserve, it doesn't mean you have no eggs but does refer to your reserve being quite low. You really need to have a proper consultation with a fertility DR to get a better picture of what you are facing.

I've read up a good bit and from what I understand with a low Amh it is important to concentrate on egg quality which means no caffeine, supplements, exercise and general lifestyle changes

I hope this helps a little. I was devastated when got my result but a few months on and after having proper consultation I am more positive

Blondienut that is so reassuring thank you 🙏 Yeah I also thought it was a bit naughty to not really discuss it with me, was such a shock, sat on the stairs not quite believing what I was reading! Right, it's time to stop wallowing and get looking at which supplements I need....I'm already on decaf tea and decaf Coke, maybe need to ditch the Coke altogether now 😩😩😩it's my only pleasure but I think it's got to go.....thank u thank u and lots of luck to you 😀Xxx

Def ditch any type of coke or fizzy drink.
Coenzyme Q10
Pre conception mutivit
Folic acid
Omega high strength
Vit D high strength

Avoid alcohol, processed food, sugar and in general anything nice!!!!!!

Watch out for 3 for 2 in boots- oh and your DH should be taking them all too apart from folic acid

No worries I'll find them all tomorrow 👌🏼 Thank u 👍I'll get his too! He's going for a sperm test next week 🤞 I'm kinda thinking that will be ok as we've managed to conceive before but miscarried xxx

How long have you been trying?

Yes below 1 is low. Do you know your fsh? However- that doesn't mean it's impossible to conceive. It does mean that ivf may be less likely to work because you are not likely to respond to the drugs.

BUT you only need 1 decent egg to conceive, and with 1 tube, if the other one works, then it can still happen.

I was told my amh was 2.8 age 34- so very low for that age. I've been pregnant 3 times since and had 2 live births.

Hi Chattycat, we've been trying for about 2 years since miscarriage.....I don't think I have my FSH, will see if I have any paperwork with it on.....thank u ur story makes me hopeful 🙏Xxx

I've just checked my FSH was 3.9 about 18 months ago xxx
