Waiting for FC Appointment

Anyone else waiting for their appointment to come through for the FC?

We were referred last month and have been told it'll be September before we have an appointment - seems like just more waiting but we've a 2 week holiday coming up so that'll be a nice distraction.

Stats:
Flora
31 (TTC#1 for 13 months)
DH diagnosed with low morphology - 2%

Thought it might be good to start a thread to bemoan the wait compare experiences of initial appointments and see how true it is that many people get a BFP while waiting for a referral. I definitely feel a lot more zen these days and my symptom spotting has pretty much disappeared as I just don't think it will happen without medical intervention - which 65% of the time I am OK with - but 35% of the time I'm sad that we're having to go down this route and wish we'd be a couple that could just have sex to make a baby.

I was initially referred to the FC last December and sure enough a few weeks before our appointment I got my first BFP. Very strange how that happens! Unfortunately it ended in MC at 12 weeks, but I have heard quite a few couples manage to get pregnant once referred.

I was then referred again in April and had my first appointment just 6 weeks later. However, the appointment was very short, I had AMH blood test and my partner provided a sperm sample. That was in in May, and our next appointment in only the end of September! Pretty devastated that there is such a long wait in-between appointments.

I'm 32 and been TTC #1 for 3 years.

Sorry to hear about your miscarriage Hopeful - I can almost see how it happens as since the referral I've been a bit more chilled about it all - but since we are dealing with a morphology issue - rather than just unexplained infertility - I can't see us being lucky.
That is crazy and very worrying regarding waiting times for appointments! Is that on the NHS or privately?
How did your AMH test results go? I've an awful feeling about getting that test - for no apparent reason Sad

That's through the NHS. We haven't had any test results back, we assume we'll get them at our next appointment? I considered ringing, but knowing the results sooner won't make any difference so I'd rather just wait.

Part of me feels ok because at least I've been referred and I'm in the 'system' now but on the other hand, it's taken so long for me to get to this point that I just feel like it's never going to happen! By the time my appointment comes round, that'll be 9 months wasted. It's frustrating that it seems to depend on location ...I read lots of stories on here of people receiving treatment very quickly after referral. Makes no sense to me?

Me neither and it'll definitely be one of the questions that I ask when we finally get to appointment stage as no point in just waiting to see - I'd like to know the timeline for things starting so that I can try to plan my life a bit - everything just feels in limbo at the moment. And if it is the case that we've to wait 3,6,9 months for treatment then I want to know that at the outset.
I've just had the results of my second lot of 21 day bloods and they've come back inconclusive again so sounds like I have some sort of progesterone deficiency on top of DH sperm issue. Feeling like we can't even get a break at all at the moment.

My 21 day blood test wasn't good news either, but I wasn't that surprised as I have endometriosis and just had two ovarian cysts removed so I thought it would be too good to be true to be ovulating as well! ...better not push my luck now! lol.

I wish we'd asked more questions about the process at our appointment, so that's a good idea to have a list of things that you want to ask.
I think in my case, as I managed to get pregnant naturally it seems to slow down the process of help being offered. So hopefully you'll be one of the ones that receives treatment quickly!
