Hashimoto's and male fertility

DH has been diagnosed with Hashimoto's, I've read that this can affect male fertility, does anyone have any positive stories experiences with this?

He has a semen analysis in a couple of weeks so we should have a better idea what we're facing but I am worried this is going to be the cause of our secondary infertility (ttc dc2 for nearly 18months).

Is your husband being treated with thyroxine to correct his levels? If treated successfully with replacement hormone it would take 3 months for his sperm to renew, at that point you'd get a good idea of any residual effects of the condition on sperm quality. Good luck.

Thanks scottishgirl, he's not yet as consultant wants to do more bloods first (only got diagnosis yesterday). I don't think DH mentioned to the endocrinologist the issues we're having ttc which wasn't very helpful!
