Anyone had a BFP after years and years of absolutely nothing?

Almost 4 years now ttc number 2 and during that time we haven't had a single BFP. I'm starting to think it's never going to happen now. Success stories normally grate on me, but if anyone has been in a similar situation and eventually got a BFP after years and years of NOTHING, I'd really love a bit of hope because I think mine is failing.

Our diagnosis is male factor, DH has low (but not obsolete) count and morphology.

I wasn't trying as long as you but I got a bfp after just over 2.5 years. We had mfi (low motility and morphology and borderline count) and never had a bfp ever. We had did ivf after two years but it was cancelled before egg collection and then fell naturally whilst waiting for round two. After two years, I never found the miracle success stories that hopeful - either they'd come along for others at less time than I'd been trying, or they were more time than me and I felt so desperate I couldn't imagine going on for another x years.
What I've realised (and obviously you know this) is that other people's experiences had no bearing on what was going to happen with us.
Flowers for you, it is so tough.

No we tried for 4 years then got a diagnosis of male factor infertility and did IVF with ICSI. First cycle was successful and I have an almost 3 year old from that, and am now pregnant with a frozen embryo from the same cycle.

PS during the 4 years of trying I never got a BFP, chemical pregnancy, just nothing month after month.

Thank you for sharing ladies and I'm glad it worked out for you both. Do you mind me asking how bad your DH/Ps counts were? My DH sometimes has a count of around 13 million, morphology varies between 0 (just the once) to 2,3,4%. Sometimes I worry that if it's just him that is the problem, why haven't I at least had a chemical in all this time with those numbers..?

We had 0-1% morphology and low motility, I cannot remember the number. Our consultant told us we would never conceive naturally.

My husband has less than 100,000. We can only dream of having a million never mind several million. 0% morphology on every test. We tried for number one for a long time and had a miracle natural conception just before trying ivf. She is now 2 and we have just had a failed fresh, doing a FET next month. My case is very unusual (most doctors don't actually believe us!) but shows that atrocious sperm count can sometimes beat the odds! 13 million is really quite good, although still well below what they like to see at 20 million. I do feel with mfi that they don't worry about female side anymore. I'm worried my fresh cycle failed because of me, it was a perfect embryo. I think I'm right that you have one frozen embryo? (spend way too much time lurking on here!). I really hope that's your baby. It's so tough Flowers x

At it's worse count was 11mil, motility 18% and morphology 2%. It did fluctuate though, not sure if anything we did helped (caffeine free, proxeed etc). Our consultant said there was enough sperm there for conception so it's likely something else is contributing to our infertility. I have fibroids and was always told their location wouldn't affect fertility so it was v confusing. I started to think something was very very wrong, but didn't do all the immune testing etc as figured I'd do that after a round of ivf failed. We also didn't do anti-sperm antibodies or DNA fragmentation tests.
Good luck op.
