Hello
Long time lurker, first time poster.

My partner and I have been TTC for the past year, I'm 31, have endometriosis (10 years diagnosed), PCOS and have known I might have difficulty conceiving.

A dye test five years ago showed no problems however after a laparoscopy on Tuesday my (amazing) surgeon consultant told me the results of the dye test she performed were that both my tubes are blocked so I would need to seek referral asap for fertility treatment.

Having recently moved I don't have a local GP - I can't begin to explain how difficult it is to get on in my area, not only can I only register within a 2 hour window in a weekday afternoon, wait times for non emergency appointments are in excess of 3 weeks. Previously I was a private patient at my GP but there are no options to register privately with local surgeries here (waltham forest). In addition we are looking to move out to Oxfordshire with an offer in on a house so I'm not keen to start any NHS process and waiting here.

As such I have booked a private consultation at the lister clinic for next week. I appreciate it may seem odd to dive in to private treatment without NHS consultation but I'm really visiting to see where we even start with this journey as I'm very much in the dark about how the process works.

I'd really appreciate any advice on what I should expect from this consultation, what I should go armed with etc.

My partner has always known this might have to be the route we go down but he's a little surprised by my almost unemotional approach to it I guess. Part of me is happy it's finally confirmed that we cant conceive naturally and we can now take the steps we need to towards starting our family. Perhaps it hasn't sunk in yet, or I accepted defeat years ago.

Thank you x
