Consultant working part time - problem?

I am about to embark on IVF but my consultant only works part time Monday Tuesday and Thursday. Other consultants do other days but I can't help think this would interfere with egg collection/embryo transfer if he is not there as he knows my history.

Is this common/do other docs step in in an IVF cycle?

My consultant only works at certain times but does come in for ec/et if needed. Otherwise another consultant steps in. I have been lucky so far in that I have only ever seen my consultant.

Doesn't matter at all. When clinics do EC or ET at weekends, there'll be a rota for who is on call for procedures. I had several different consultants do my EC/ET over the years, not just the one whose care I was under.
