IVF - Down Reg - Last Period?

This might be a bit of a dumb question and most people would probably Google, but I quite like hanging out here!
I was wondering - when you do the down reg do you get a period at all? I'm assuming not as the drugs are shutting down your system. I'm starting on Thurs and having a good read through my info pack but can't find the answer. In my pack it talks about down reg then says 'what if my period does not come when expected'. So I think that's what has confused me! I'll be seeing the consultant on Wed so can ask then. However I know some of you are like experts on here.

Yes you get a period when your downregging. Did the nurses put you on contraception pill before downregging? They did with me. I was on them a week before downregging, Then on them around 2 weeks while downregging and then once u stop taking the pill, you should come on your period a few days later. Once you have this bleeds youll for a baseline scan in where they'll check your ovaries and lining. If everything's good to go, you'll start with the stimming.
