Scan before starting Clomid?

I was wondering if anyone could help ....

I have been prescribed Clomid last week along with provera. I have amenorrhea so haven't had a period naturally in over 18months.

The specialist has said before I begin taking clomid I need to go for a scan to check my lining of the womb. I can't find anything online about people having a scan before clomid?

Anyone herd of this/know what I mean?

Ive never heard of that either OP. Are you paying for it? Cos i would really question this if you are. I was on clomid and was only scanned whilst on it to monitor me. Cant see any reason they would need to scan before hand

Glad I'm not going mad! I'm not paying for it no. It's on the NHS. I've even been sent to a different hospital.

She said due to not having a period in a couple months (which was forced before my HSG 2 month ago) my lining will be nasty but she wanted a scan to check anyway? Which to me doesn't make sense as we will be forcing a period and ... riding myself of this lining anyway (er I sound like a snake!)

So annoying, clomid is calling me from the cupboard!
