Reckless advice on this Board

I thought I'd delurk to express my anger at some of the advise on these boards. Majority of posters are NOT gynaecologists do not have medical notes so any response to a given situation has to be measured.

A lot of vulnerable people are asking for medical advice which really should have come from trained professionals but I understand if someone is looking for quick advice and people are measured in their responses.

However I have also seen examples where posters are advising people to use donor eggs (based on blood test results) and these aren't donor mums, just self styled experts. Errr shouldn't that highly personal advice come from professionals rather than a random internet stranger?

Don't get me wrong, some posters have been knowledgeable and helpful but others have been downright reckless.

As with any forum, you'll get people with a range of opinions. I'm sure posters are aware of that...

As what JoJo said. I think people come on here for advice and guidance, when the doctors dont tell you ins and outs etc. I certainly do look for advice, but only would ever act upon it unless it was stated by a doctor or a nurse. I thinki hope that everyone has that common sense.
If it wasnt for the information ive got off these boards and others, it would have made my treatment a lot more stressful and i wouldn't have a clue!
Everyone has opinions but hopefully people wont take it too seriously without consulting with a doctor first, goes without saying.
