Getting pregnant after successful IVF

So....this might be a little forward thinking but I know I need to get my head around it sooner rather than later! I gave birth on 13 April after a successful round of IVF. Prior to this, we had been trying for 3 1/2 years, unknown reason for infertility. We have one frozen embryo. I have my check up with doctor soon where they discuss contraception options. Now, I don't particularly want another child straight away but am worried if I go on contraception, it will still take a long time and we should just take it as it comes (mind the pun)! Really in two minds what to do. I am aware that after pregnancy my body could have changed and I fall a lot easier. Anyone with any advice or similar experiences? I am in my thirties and the thought of going back into hormonal birth control us not something I overly want to do as I feel this may have contributed to my infertility issues.

Congrats on your little one ;) I think it is difficult to tell whether you might get pregnant or not. You do hear stories of people getting naturally pregnant after IVF. Personally, I fall into 'unexplained' but I actually know what the issue is and know that I'm completely sterile without medical intervention...

I did ivf when I was 35. It was a successful first round. I didn't use any contraception afterwards. I was breastfeeding and my periods came back after 9?minths. I had 1 period, then was pregnant again.

My "issue" was low amh- that's why we did the ivf. I did get pregnant naturally, however, before the ivf, but sadly it was a MMC so I could clearly get pregnant.

I have had comments that the ivf may have "done something" to make me more fertile though. No idea if it's true or not.
