3 day LH/FSH bloods

Actually had these on day 4. Can anybody help me interpret the results?

FSH: 7.4
LH: 16.9

Everything I'm reading says this is a problem? I ovulate, it I thought I did, between days 15-28 every month, maybe missing one month in 10. I've been TTC too many years to count. Unexplained aside from mild, treated endometriosis that doesn't seem to cause me a problem anymore? I'm mid 30s. Where do I go from here? Next appointment with consultant will be in a few weeks.

Hi , I see that no one has answered. The ratio of LH to FSH looks like you prolly have PCOS. Normally, the ratio would be about 1:1.

That to me would indicate polycystic ovarian syndrome as well (I had similar, if not higher on occasion, figures).

It is quite possible to have periods without actually ovulating. I would not class you as unexplained given your previous endometriosis diagnosis as well.

This result certainly needs to be discussed with the consultant; if at all possible do not go to that appointment on your own. You need moral support and he can ask questions too.

Thought so.

Is this connected to my thyroid becoming underactive? I had a scan a few years ago and there were no cysts on my ovaries then. I've had Clomid before and ovulated with that.

I think they class me as 'unexplained' because my endometriosis was treated. PCOS was never detected/mentioned, it's been about 5 years of investigations now.

This could explain a lot Sad

Isn't Clomid given to women with PCOS to help them ovulate? I don't think you would have been given it in the past unless the doctor thought you had PCOS.

It was given to 'maximise my chances' by my infertility doctor. According to him I was ovulating naturally but late in my cycles (day22ish) I had scans and bloods and did ovulate on it but still late. Tried 4 cycles before I gave up as the side effects were horrific.

I now think I ovulate on day 15ish but the pain could be my body trying?

holzyb20 · 10/05/2017 15:59

Sorry November*

JoJoSM2 · 10/05/2017 16:13

Isn't LH meant to be 2-3 times higher that FSH in PCOS?

holzyb20 · 10/05/2017 16:15

I'm really unsure and confused now. X

Holzy, from what I've read you can have PCOS or PCO. One is the cysts only. Your bloods look ok to me, they look much better than mine anyway!
