In my desperation ttc #2 with unexplained secondary infertility and 2 failed IVF behind me, I have got myself an Ava bracelet which you wear every night and monitors various things - temperature, sleep, resting heart rate etc and the idea is that it helps to identify fertile days without having to temp/ poas.... has anyone else tried this? Any success stories?
I got it 2 days ago and one thing I have noticed and has worried me is that it is reading my sleeping heart rate as being v low - only 36bpm!? I'd love to say it's cos I'm super fit, but while my bmi is slap in the middle or normal, I'm definitely not super fit and keep meaning to do more. So I'm actually quite worried there's something wrong.. my blood pressure is often low too, and I feel tired a lot... do you think the monitor is just not v accurate or should I see a doc about it? TIA! X

Hi Hobbes39, I'm so happy to see another Ava user here! My lowest resting pulse rate on Ava is also in the 30s, it's usually around 37-39 during my periods. I used to run marathons but I don't anymore and haven't for years, so not sure if that's related. I think the monitor is pretty accurate, when I first got it I was skeptical so I checked it with a fancy chest-strap heart rate monitor I already had, wore that for the full night and it gave me the same info as my Ava. If you're worried about it you could see your doctor. One way to check the accuracy is to lie down very still for a few minutes during the day and take your heart rate. It wouldn't be quite as low as it gets in the middle of the night, but if Ava is accurate, it should be at least somewhere in the 40s.
