Infertility
Blocked tubes
LSB66 · 15/04/2017 16:18
Hello all, after trying to conceive naturally for 1.5yr I went to see my gp for referral. After several tests found out partner has low sperm count. Thought this was the cause of not conceiving.
Found out that I also have fibroids but they are so small that they shouldn't affect my fertility.
After going back to my gynaecologist had HSG and hyperscopy found out last week that I have blocked tubes on both sides. Have now being trying for 2 years and feel totally [email protected] off. If I'd of known 2 years ago that I had blocked tubes it would of saved me a shit load of heartache, jealously, arguments with my partner, numerous doctors trips, test and clomid. Rant over! Feel totally pissed off at my stupid body and know now that I'll probably never conceive without ivf.
Anyone else in the same boat?
Thanks alll xx

I don't know yet, I think I'm having a laroscopy to check the blockages

Ok. Sometimes just the lap itself can unblock it so don't lose hope. Hopefully its just gunk and not endo - fingers crossed

Hi LSB, if you're still checking this, I just wanted to pass on some encouragement. I was similar, ttc for about 14 months with no joy. Long story short, lap and dye revealed blocked tube on one side which was they were able to clear. I also had pcos so that was treated by ovarian drilling at the same time. They also found 3 sites of endometriosis which were lasered out. OH also had his own issues of low sperm count so it was all looking a bit bleak. I fell pregnant 4 months after the lap and dye (we'd given up on the idea of it happening naturally by this point so it was a more relaxed time - dunno if that helped at all?)
It's a fucker when you learn that all those months of misery were for nothing and I can completely sympathise. The disappointment every month is completely soul destroying and it impacts on every part of your life. It's shit! But, if they can clear the blockage, then you're already in a better position!
Good luck!

Someblondegirl. Thank you for your message. I do feel much more relaxed about it all now. Now it's out of our hands and I don't think anything will happen naturally. Maybe we'll be lucky like you and once we've chilled out a bit something may happen.
Congratulations, sounds like you've been thro some of what we're going through now x
