Why does a cycle fail?

I had the scratch, embryo glue, the blasto was hatching out of its shell when they put it back, it survived the thaw so was strong, I had good lining... so why did my cycle fail?

It's hard I know. I just had to keep reminding myself it was just one of those things

Not all embryos are chromosomally normal

An embryo can look beautiful and be supposedly 'top quality'

But can still be abnormal

I had 4 great quality blasts that PGS testing showed were all chromosomally abnormal

A genetically abnormal embryo can't make a healthy baby

Other issues may be receptivity, high nk cells, clotting disorders

About 3k where I inquired.

It's horrifically expensive.

And only really worth doing with a lot of embryos or after recurrent implantation failure

It was £3000 for 8 embryos

Plus the cost of a FET as the embryos are frozen immediately after biopsy, as the results take up to 2 weeks

It was a useful diagnostic for me as I've now miscarried 2 PGS normals, so we know my issue is the uterine environment (the soil) rather than the embryo factor (the seed)

I've had 4 transfers. Second one resulted in DS. We only ever get 2 that get to the final stage, 1 fresh transfer and 1 to freeze.

bibs if you've no Frosties left from this round and wanted to try another I think PGS at Reprofit in Czech Republic works out about £1000. So the total round with meds comes in at around £4000

That's the million dollar question, OP!!! I was in exactly the same situation as you on my last round and still got a negative test result. Was told it could be an implantation issue, though not sure what I can do about that for next time. Doing our last frozen cycle next month, had scratch, acupuncture etc last time but this time I'm inclined not to bother with any of that. Been recommended baby aspirin so might try that but other than that I'm at a bit of a loss as to what I can do!!!!

What did you do in the cycle where you had your son? My first IVF (of 4) was successful but that was 4 years ago now and I do have low AMH. In my first attempt, I ate junk, didn't take any supplements and didn't even know about the scratch back then. And the embryo wasn't the best quality I've had either. We just got really lucky!!!!!

Glummy - cycle when I had my DS was a FET. When I did the fresh cycle I still had the odd drink and cigarette as we had male factor. When that failed I went on a massive health kick and took up running. Organic food, no fizzy drinks, loads of water, no processed food. DH totally gave up booze and fags. Didn't do that this time - DH still had the odd drink but we both gave up cigarettes this time.

Last FET and this FET had acupuncture, the scratch, glue, was so hopeful and now nothing . I didn't do the whole organs thing or exercise this time. Perhaps I should've done.

I believe it's about £500. That includes free repeat biopsies
