First time IVF and not as easy as I thought!

Hi to anyone who pops by.
Finding my first round of IVF lonely, we've tried for a baby for 6 years, 13 miscarriages , I've high NK cell activity and treatment didn't work so now trying IVF as the clinic can manage every stage, so I've IVF treatment drugs and NK cell treatment drugs and I just feel like should this fail all my hopes and dreams are again shattered.

If anyone wants company I promise not to moan further 😉

So my positive part of the thread is I'm on day 8 of suprecur and the injecting is going well.
I've my baseline scan on 20th .

You're welcome to moan. I think all of us who are in the shitty position of having to do IVF have earned it!

Thirteen miscarriages must have been beyond hellish. I really hope your treatment works for you

Glad you're injections are going well. My meds are in my fridge staring at me. Just waiting for my withdrawal bleed after coming off pill to start stimming. It's day 5 now though so don't know where my bleed is.

It is such a stressful and lonely journey. Thank god for this board!

Wow I can't imagine what you have been through OP, feel absolutely free to moan and rant here! You are not alone but I know what you mean, I don't know anyone IRL who has been through this.. I am due for EC next week (fingers crossed!) I found once the injections started it all got a little easier and felt closer to the end goal, best of luck!!

I'm starting my injections tomorrow. I'm terrified!

Is this mummy- good luck with injection I found counting to 3 and just doing it helped a little rather than a dither 😝 I can assure you it's not as bad as I worked up in my mind 👍🏻
Now on day 13 and I don't think about it at all other than I stress a lot about air bubbles 😂

I don't know much about nk cells but assume it's when body attacks embryo so can't survive?

Have you had intralipids?

Know that worked for a friend who had 5mc

Thank you blondes, yes intralipds are on my plan I have my first lot two days prior to EC which I've got a preliminary date of 5th April.
Was your friend susccessful first time on intralipids?

Yes she was. Think she went daily /few times a week after egg transfer

We found the whole process was a series of hurdles - will we react well to the meds, will there be any eggs, will those eggs fertilise and so on - just take it in little bite sized chunks and celebrate getting through each stage, it's the only way to stay sane.

p.s it worked and I'm 5 weeks pregnant

We have just started our 1st round of ivf, had my 1st suprecur injection this morning and endo scratch yesterday (ouch!)

Find it hard to talk to friends and family about our problems, I feel a little embarrassed and almost like a failure. So hoping I can make some friends on here who are going through the same journey

We have been ttc for around 3 years and had an eptopic last year, I have endometriosis and have blocked tubes.

Has anyone else had the endo scratch??

Ozzyboo-- welcome I totally get your feelings but your not a failure you've just had to deal wih more than the norm! Sorry about your ectopic too.
I haven't had the scratch but I've got high NK cells so I'll be having intralipds on Friday.
I'm now on day 3 of gonal f alongside the suprecur I've been on 4 weeks Friday , the injections have certainly got a lot easier xx

Thanks Dildoos, I know all of this deep down of course, but I just have them days where I think 'why me' and 'life is so unfair' but I guess that's normal right?

I do get so excited sometimes too, but the fear always takes over and I come crashing back down!

I've heard good things about the scratch so feeling positive about that too.

Roughly how long does it take from day 1 to egg transfer does anyone know?

Roughly 10/12 days but depends how your body reacts to drugs and how lining is at first scan

In 2nd cycle wasn't thick enough so think went on day 1&3&4 and then started injections so the estimates ec and et dates we were given moved by 4days

I have just had a sudden thought.. I got up this morning to do my suprecur for 7:10am,
the nurse told me I MUST do them at the same time everyday. It's been on my mind so much I've been waking up hourly through the night because I'm scared I'll sleep through!

The clocks have gone forward!!!! This means I did it an hour EARLIER than I did it yesterday! Does this matter? It's only my 2nd day so I'm hoping not too much! I can't ring the clinic as they're closed on a Sunday!

Help I am panicking

I would think an hour early is ok, an hour late would be a bigger issue.

Just checked with the clinic and they said it's fine 👍🏼 I let these things get to me far too much, I haven't been able to get it out of my head!

Sorry ie been away from thread I had disappointment sadly.
5 days prior to EC I came into contact wih a little one with slapped cheek and the blood test for immunity wasn't back in time so bourn hall weren't happy to continue my treatment and I had to stop all medication.
2 losses felt one was the almost touchable embryo transfer and the other the £1300 of medication I used prior to stopping.
Blood test now back and I'm immune.
I wondered what you ladies thought do you think by the treatment to date may help and if I try naturally all may not be wasted. I was on day 7 of gonal F would that be enough to stimulate the follicles ? I just any get my head around the loss and want so desperately not to have to wai to try again. X

Why couldn't they continue with ec and freeze all while waiting for blood tests?

Because all would apparently be affected. So now I know I'm immune and none would be what's the chances of having luck on the gonal f I had and trying once again naturally? X

Sorry to hear about your bad news OP. was it the rubella immunity? they laid it on thick on the information meeting I had went to about IVF, that the rubella blood test was vital and if they didn't have it, it would hold up the treatment. I'm about to embark on my first round and it is very daunting. Appointments and injections, trips to hospital, time off work at short notice..oh the joys
