Hey all, I've just started my 1st round of ICSI. 1 injection down and I'm on the short protocol so only 11 days isherwood of injections. Does anyone know what pain relief is OK to use whilst on the medication? I'm OK now but prone to extensive migraines so not sure what is safe to take if one comes on. I read somewhere to avoid ibuprofen and aspirin. Is paracetamol OK? Xx sooooo dreading starting cetrotide on Monday! The needle looks huge and I'm needle phobic!

Paracetamol should be fine. I didn't even consider whether I could use medication when injecting so I'm sure most stuff is fine Smile

I was horribly needle phobic too. I promise you'll get used to it. It helps to pinch the skin if you can. (And knowing how to inject yourself helps when it works and you are sent home with a pack of fragmin to inject after a c section!)

Ibuprofen is fine up until transfer. Don't take after ET.

Paracetamol is fine any time

After EC you might want to take Co codamol if you're suffering - that's fine.

Aspirin is best avoided because it's a blood thinner. It can risk concealed bleeding during transfer that can compromise implantation. It may be prescribed after transfer as part of an immunes protocol but only at very low dose. Don't take unless your Dr has advised it.
