PCOS trying for 2 years.. and nothing feel like giving up!!

Hi all, first time posting in this catagory.. I was diagnosed with PCOS 8 months ago having been trying for 1+ year and having mad irregular periods and no pregnancy, went for ultrasound etc and was devastated when I found out as I've always longed for children. I'm only 20 aswell feel asif my Dreams had been crushed! After 8 long months I've finally been referred for a infertility appointment at the hospital.. which is in two weeks, but I still feel like I'm going to get nowhere with it.. as I have tried metformin and it hasn't worked for me, I feel like giving up completely and just accepting that I can not have kids, but this is heartbreaking for me and has caused a lot of depression and stress. Don't know what to do I have tried every supplement and vitamin on earth :-( advice please

PCOS is normally quite treatable. How often do you ovulate? A lot of PCOS ladies fall on clomid and iui. If not IVF

I had ivf to have my baby after having pcos since a teen.

Please don't give up, a mixture of metformin and weight loss helped me get my 7 week old DD after two years of trying, just as I had given up and was waiting for my infertility appointment. Good luck.

Are you getting prioritized in your treatment? In my area they prioritize ivf (inc clomid) treatments and appointments for pcos suffers between 35-40. Most of the under 25 year olds are told to try for 2 years before they get placed on clomid. So by that standard I think you're doing really well

I would also advise you not to give up but to be as informed as possible with regards to treatment options. You have not embarked on any actual fertility treatment options yet.

Metformin is not for everyone so please do not be totally disheartened.

I would suggest you both attend this initial appointment if at all possible. Such appointments can also cause considerable nerves and he can also offer you moral support.

Write down any questions you want to ask them well ahead of time; you do not want to leave there thinking, "oh I should have asked about xyz". No question is daft. You will need to be persistent in order to get answers.
