FET at Priory Birmingham

I think we're (I'm) ready to go for ITU with our frozen embryos.

Had 2 rounds of ivf in 2014/15. First cycle, short protocol, BFP followed within 10 days by a miscarriage. Got 2 Frosties from that cycle.
Second cycle, long protocol, big fat failure. 8 eggs, 7 fertilised, one put back day 3. Not one embryo cultured to blastocyst and BFN.

We stopped trying for a while to get my head around things and try to recover emotionally from it.

Now I think I'm ready to go for it but have no idea where to start! Last appointment we had with consultant was after failed 2nd round and an embryo scratch was suggested.

Anyone have any experience of how do I get the ball rolling and what it'll involve?

Go for it, not go for ITU.

I think you need to call BMI and name an appointment with your preferred consultant to kick things off, they can advise you of the correct procedure.

Not sure who you used before but wet had Dr. Rajkhowa and cannot recommend enough, really really lovely and very thorough, competent and professional, we felt in very safe hands.

Unfortunately success rates for FET at the Priory are not high, around 20-25% when we went through, so be prepared for failure (sorry!) and consider a fresh round.

I was unde mr Baghdadi for the first two cycles.

To be honest, I'm not holding out much hope with the FET and know that the odds are slim, as they were with the ivf too, but I feel that as they're there, if we didn't try to use the embryos, we would always wonder what if.

We've decided that this will be our last go. We'd always given ourselves a limit of three tries, so we're classing the FET as the last so that we can move on so in a way it's kind of a means to an end with a tiny possibility of something good if it is successful.

I think I'll give the priory a calll this week and book an appointment to go through everything in person and get our heads around what would happen, timelines and costs etc.

For what it's worth Dr R is leaving the priory shortly and moving to care which is openkng in April. I've had two cycles at the priory and will be following her there or back to BWH as a private patient. There have been to many minor cock ups for me to consider more at the priory. You can consider moving frosties too.
