Reprofit mid-cycle scan help
Scottishgirl85 · 31/01/2017 21:20
Hi, we're planning ivf abroad (Reprofit) and in the initial questionnaire they've asked for a scan done on cycle day 13-14 to get an idea of lining, any cysts etc. I have cycle lengths from 29-36 days so it's impossible to aim for mid-cycle scan. I'm booked in for this Friday which is day 15 but I'm tempted to move the scan to Monday (day 18). I'm wondering if you ladies know the significance of the scan being day 13-14? To me it sounds like they want just before ovulation, but I'm worried day 15 will be too early and day 18 might be just after. Typical that ovulation will likely fall over a weekend but I'm not waiting another month. Do you reckon Friday or Monday? Thanks for any advice!

I would do Friday and then if need be mon as well depending on results
Assume your local scan clinic isn't open on sat? Many are

Thanks so much Blondes for your reply. It's an NHS scan so I've only got one shot and they're only open Mon-Fri. I'll be going to a private scanning clinic when it comes to the actual ivf, but hoping to have this one covered during a scan I am due to receive on NHS. Do you remember what info they really need from this pre-ivf scan. The questionnaire only asks if cysts or fibroids are present (which I'm thinking are less critical for cycle timing?), but also lining thickness, so I'm wondering if the results from the lining thickness guides the drug doses etc. In which case I'm nervous to get the timing right. Gosh I'll be a nightmare by the time we actually get started... Thanks so much.

I have a cyst but it's not in the way and although always mention it , it isn't s problem
Can't believe NHS and scan can only be done once and m to f . If they want a mid cycle scan I would do fri as if lining et isn't thick enough then you could pay for a private scan Monday
Where if you leave till Monday and too late then you've lost this month totally iyswim
You are lucky to get the scan in NHS if doing private ivf abroad

Thanks! Scan today and leading 1.8mm follicle and 7mm lining, so think timing was actually not bad! I'm amazed about next testing too. I'm getting everything done, plus sperm count and doc has said she's referring us to fertility clinic if something shows up (which it will, hubby has been low count). I keep reminding her we have a child. I imagine we won't get past clinic, but might as well get initial tests for free. Just need to do private amh. Thanks again, will be glad to get questionnaire sent off and get to next step!! Hope you are doing well x
