Hi all
We're hoping to start ivf next year. I just have no idea how it's possible to fit it in around ful time work. In my job I need cover if I'm not in 9-5 even if it's out for half an hour I need cover and it's a new job so I don't really want to tell anyone.
Would taking 2 weeks holiday or 2 weeks sick leave be easiest?

I have to say I've had 3 weeks sick like from my GP for both of my cycles. I work in a prison and don't feel it's a safe environment when I'm stressed/ exhausted x

Blueroses99 · 08/01/2017 00:54

Hi Geeup, good luck with your cycles. Best to start a Feb/Mat cycle buddies group to attract others in the same stage as you. I was on Oct/Nov and found it invaluable to chat to others going through the same thing xx

geeup · 08/01/2017 10:00

Thanks blueroses. I'll do that when I have my appointment date confirmed.

Hi geeup! We have our first appointment with Victoria wing 13th march, we're private and hoping to start cycle in may. I'm waiting for my day one (due today) so I can call for my pelvic scan and hoping they can do Friday as I already have the day covered at work. How easy was it getting your pelvic scan appointment?
We're also male factor- severe low count and severe low motility and poor morphology. No female fertility problems. Cycle 36!
How have you found Victoria wing so far?

Hi darcy. We haven't actually been to the Victoria wing yet. I had my pelvic ultrasound and other tests at East Surrey. It's not pleasant but not painful and quite interesting! First appointment at VW on 31st so literally counting down the days!

geeup · 16/01/2017 08:44

I'm going to start another thread re that clinic so will post a link when I do so we don't hijack this one.

geeup · 16/01/2017 08:45

In the meantime you can look up Ellie and Jamie's IVF diary on YouTube - they did a private cycle at our clinic - it's good to watch to see what you'll go through (even if you're not using that clinic).

MrsDarcy4092 · 16/01/2017 08:58

Perfect thank you for that and look forward to the new thread - although I started this thread so I don't mind it being a hijacked but a new one will mean more people can find it.
Is your apppiubgment on 31st an initial appointment? I had a USs at royal Surrey hospital but Victoria wing wouldn't accept this so before our initial appointment I have to have another scan. 31st is really near now!

Oh that's interesting that they wouldn't accept your ultrasound. I hope mine is ok. Yes the 31st is just my first appointment with them after being referred from my consultant. Do you think I'm miles off starting :(

geeup · 16/01/2017 17:31

Hi again darcy (and anyone with Victoria Wing). I've created a new thread in Infertility - sorry I don't know how to link. But come join us! Hopefully some other will find us.

welshweasel · 16/01/2017 17:39

I had early appointments so didn't take time off for scans. I did short protocol but didn't have EC until day 18. Had three days off work following EC as was really sore. Popped out for ET on day 23 (literally said I had an appointment at the bank) and went straight back to work after. I stimmed for longer than most so I think booking day 10-24 off would be fine.

MrsDarcy4092 · 16/01/2017 18:09

Geeup no I don't think your ages of starting but there seems to always be more tests scans needed than we think so prepare for that and then you shouldn't be disappointed.

Thanks welshwessel I hope I can do the same!
