Unexplained infertility- clomid or IUI?

Hi all. I know there's a lot of knowledgable people on this forum so just looking for some advice..
20 months ttc, no sign of a BFP ever. I have regular 28 day cycles and appear to be ovulating each month. Usual day 3 and 21 bloods fine, amh fine, laparoscopy good, husband'a semen analysis good- you get the picture! They have found no reason as to why we haven't been able to conceive.

Anyway, decided it's time to start looking at treatment options. I happened to see two different consilatants at the fertility clinic and both have given conflicting advice. One said he wouldn't recommend iui for unexplained infertility but would recommend a few months of clomid. Went away to think about it and saw a different consultant today at review apt- she said she would not recommend clomid as I already ovulate but would recommend we go with IUI.

I am totally confused. What to do??

I think if you look at the numbers the chances of falling pregnant on clomid are slightly higher than just iui but effectively the same for unexplained fertility so you're better off going for the cheaper option.

Malbec, I am at the same stage as you.
I had my scan and was too that 2 good follicles, just waiting to see now. What about you if you don't mind me asking?

Hi, it is a bit of a long shot but was wondering if you had names of doctors in the London south west area who agreed to give clomid for unexplained fertility? I am in the same situation I have been diagnosed with unexplained fertility with my second one. I had issues with my first ones and ttc for 3 years then got prescribed Letrozole (I have pcos) and got pregnant after the second month! Now I have been recommended ivf with letrozole and have to go private for this. Before using all my savings in ivf I would prefer to use a cheaper and also less invasive way to have a baby. Still don't get why I can get letrozole with ivf but not letrozole with trying naturally! I am also wondering why they have not suggested letrozole with IUI... if you have any recommandations of doctors that would help me a lot as two have already refused this to me :-( thank you very much!!
