IVF transfer.

Hi,
I'm just wondering if anybody has transferred their fertility treatment to a different center on the NHS. I know it's possible, but don't know how easy it would be to do so?
We don't fall into the normal reasons for transferring , the wait too long etc. In fact its a very good hospital . We obviously don't want to appear ungrateful either but my DH will know a lot of the staff, we haven't told our family and friends because we simply don't want anyone to know. It just all seems a bit awkard.

Hi Hopeful, DH and I transferred - you need to speak to your GP who is allowed to refer you to any NHS clinic you like.

Huge thanks for the reply, is it my GP at my Docters rather then the fertility specialist who did the referral in the first place?

Hmm, clearly your area works differently to mine - where I'm based it's the GP who makes the initial referral. I suggest contacting your fertility specialist as well as the GP and asking how you go about changing clinics. NHS patients have the right to choose where they will be treated, so don't let them fob you off.
