Clomid, ordering independently? Please help me

DH and i have been TTC for 4 years. Fertility investigations showed no problems at all, diagnosed with Secondary Infertility.
We had everything except DH's semen analysis before we moved into a different NHS Trust Area
When we went to GP to see about having SA done as the final step at our new local hospital, we were told No, that each Trust cannot rely on tbe previous ones' tests, and we would have to go back and do the same tests all over again.
The FSH levels, 21, 28, 32 day Progesterone blood tests for my next 3 cycles (7-8 months due to irregular cycle), and another Lap and Dye test to show tubal patency.

I just can't do it all again. We were so close to finally getting there, one appointment from being prescribed Clomid. The FA told us that, but then through DH and his work being the way it always is, we had to move. So they want it all done again. All of it, everything, A years worth of blood tests and another Lap and Dye. Even though we only moved 70 miles across from one County to the next one Down.

Nobody will listen, we don't have that time to start again. I am 34, my DM started her menopause at 37, was done by 39.

I wish with all my heart we'd never moved in the first place.
I am hoping someone can point me in the direction of a legitimate online Clomid vendor.
I don't want to get ill when I order them by buying fake medicine.
If anybody knows a reputable site that I won't be made ill by, I would be so very thankful.

OP this is all levels of wrong. I understand your reasoning and I really do know the pain of infertility, but seriously, please don't buy online. Go back to your new GP, explain your DM had early menopause and take it from there. Could you afford to see a consultant privately? Hell of a lot cheaper than taking shit off the internet which could ruin your health and ANY chance of a baby

cheapredwine I have tried, I was in tears the last time I went to see the GP because moving to a separate County has just halted everything to nothing, and needs to be re-done from the start.
I did try to explain that time really is not on our side, and that the results of every single test and procedure are there in black and white to be seen, but she simply said that they cannot refer and prescribe on the back of another Trust's findings. I can't believe it, to wait a further 18months or so to do what's already been done by us both at length feels totally demoralising, not to mention unnecessary and uncomfortable procedures being performed that has have already been done (namely the Lap and Dye, which I had done and already know that my tubes are clear, and ovaries are functioning albeit far too slowly and irregularly).

I don't know the ins and outs of our new area, or what the cost that going private would incur, it just seems that ordering from somewhere the medication I was due to be prescribed anyway, would be the best option.

You can't buy Clomid online without a prescription. So anywhere that's selling it is distributing it illegally - and that means it's 99% likely to be fake. It's actually a defence used by a lot of these places if they are ever taken to court - then they face fraud-related charges for misleading people but not charges relating to illegal dispension of drugs, as the drugs weren't legit.

You can import some drugs from other countries where it's more freely available but again it's risky and if you get caught, the penalties are harsh. It's even more risky when you're on a tight timelimit like you are.

Have you tried appealing to PALs?

If there's not a way to get them to understand that they've already paid for this, you'll need a private consultation. Look around to get the best quote. It'll probably be more expensive than buying one lot of Clomid online, but not as expensive as repeatedly ordering fakes when they aren't working, or the potential consequences of getting caught. I think that's how you have to try and frame it in your head.

I am really sorry. It's ridiculous how care change as you move between areas.

They have their own doctor to write you the prescription (after email consultation) The medication tends to be very very cheap and the prescription charge is about £25.

I've taken their Clomid, their cetirizine, their IBS needs and everything in between (I do literally buy everything there because over the counter drugs are so cheap from them).

All I can tell you is that the medications look taste smell identical to those I've been prescribed by GP. The antihistamine they sell stops sneezing and so on.

The risk isn't fake medications (they'd have been shut down long ago).

The risk is taking a medication without RL medical supervision, blood tests etc.

(Buying from overseas, OTOH, I would consider a massive risk of fakes, which is the only reason I'm telling OP how to be desperate safely)

AnchorDownDeepBreath thank you, I know it's not the Ideal situation, and I wouldn't be asking if I wasn't totally desperate. I just feel like crap, everything is against us.
That's a good idea, I will make enquiries to be referred to PALS, because of the time restraints my body is under for this to work. It just doesn't seem right to have to have another exploratory procedure done under GA, when I've recently had one and the results are all on their records!

I had a much more minor situation where they refused to provide me with my prescriptions because I'd moved from the South to the North and it "wasn't protocol" to provide those meds without going through investigations here... mine were painkillers, but I still didn't want to go through investigations again!

A few strong but polite emails to PALs about how this was a waste of all our times, their money and a terrible experience overall, and a meeting, and they managed to find a way to "link up" the systems and avoid the investigations again. They did originally maintain that there was nothing they can do but PALs were useful and we got there! I hope you do, too.

Is it possible to ask to continue treatment at the original hospital? I only ask because I moved counties mid-investigation and we kept going to the same hospital throughout (admittedly we didn't move as far as 70 miles away). Would the journey we worth it for you? It may be worth asking if it is possible at least.

Is there any way can travel back to your original trust to complete the investigations? I thought you could now choose the hospitals etc that you go to, and they could then prescribe the clomid?

From the way you wrote your op it sounds like your DH might be military, if thats the case you might also get some help and support from your relevant families association. Sorry if I've read too much into your post.

I have had private infertility treatment and because of my job have ended up having tests, scans and investigations in 3 different countries. The private clinic accepted all of these without quibbling and even called my specialist overseas to query something.

This sounds like a daft NHS rule - ime they are doing all they can to avoid paying for fertility treatment. I agree with the advice of going to PALS if private is not an option.

I used Oxford online pharmacy and found they were very thorough before prescribing, you can't just buy them, I'm on month two of Clomid and so far so good, I had to do something as the nhs were being a bit useless :) you can order the Clomid along side a day 21 blood test, had the results within 48hrs by email!

But you need to have scans on Clomid. Seriously, you REALLY do. I had Clomid on NHS and for some reason they didn't scan me - I ended up with 6 follicles on one cycle which, when it was discovered at initial NHS IVF appointment (purely by luck they decided to give me a quick scan) they went terribly pale and said under no circumstances to have sex until my period. All 6 could have fertilised. Oh the fucking irony. OP I really do get the frustation and the desperation - FWIW I think the PALS route is very sensible - but I still can't believe you'd take something as strong as Clomid without RL supervision. I realise it's your life, your body etc etc but could you take up the PALS suggestion and throw everything at that, for say 2 months? Then rethink?

Just to add my 2p - I bought generic Clomid online without prescription and paid privately for scans at Ultrasound Direct (£75 a go). Had 2 follicles & got pregnant that cycle. Miscarried, unfortunately, but the Clomid did its job in getting me a fertilisable egg. Think I got mine from Canadian pharmacy after browsing a website that rated online pharmacies in terms of their trustworthiness. Good luck.

I'm so sorry you are going through this, have you considered paying privately for your DH sperm test? I went through NHS route and in the end decided not to take the clomid they offered me. My DH had poor sperm and they admitted it was unlikely to make much of a positive impact. As it turns out, I went for private IVF and was tested for AMH which also showed low ovarian reserve - I really don't know about this but I'm glad I didn't use clomid and 'waste' my few good eggs (as it can lead you to produce multiple eggs in one go) when we probably wouldn't have had any luck with fertilisation (currently nearly 14 weeks pregnant from IVF)

First of all, you both need a proper diagnosis of the underlying problems. It may be that both of you are contributing to the subfertility.

You as a couple did not have all the tests done either as they did not test your DH. The original trust have done the usual thing here of solely concentrating on you rather than look at the two of you and doing those tests in tandem. The semen analyses (note the plural) should have been done far earlier and to date this has not been done. Its highly likely that there are also male factor problems given that you have been trying for this length of time.

You as a couple have been failed by them.

You should be monitored whilst on clomid, its quite powerful stuff and ideally a patient should be monitored with both blood tests and ultrasound scans. If you are not monitored you have no way of knowing whether its actually doing its job or not (clomid's male job is to make the ovaries work harder).

I would be seriously looking at getting a set of semen analyses done and asap rather than just taking clomid alone. If there are male factor issues clomid will not address that at all.

Ok, I'm throwing my hat into the ring here without reading everything.

I have had several miscarriages/late losses and was finding it hard to get pregnant at all. It was also secondary infertility for me too. I was finding it very hard to get clomid and in the end found a private gynae who did NO tests and just prescribed it completely unmonitored. I took 100mg (which is a high dose) days 3-7. As I wasn't being monitored I was concerned, but for me the possibility of getting pregnant outweighed risks. I'm an educated person and had done my research. I was also desperate. I had a private scan done on day 17 to check I wasn't over stimulating and wasn't going to have quads- the doctor there said that is very very unlikely with clomid anyway, but I had one good egg. I'm now 27 weeks. If I'd listened to advice I wouldn't have taken it unmonitored, I'd have had more tests, I'd have taken a lower dose, would I now be 27 weeks though?! If you can find somewhere you can be prescribed clomid and you know it's the legit medication I'd do it. It's a pretty soft drug actually and many many places do cycles unmonitored. Do you have a private doctor who could maybe prescribe it?

Sperm analysis is a good suggestion, not least because it's an easy investigation - and cheap - ours was £95 including results and report within an hour.

Tollygunge, how much did you pay for your Clomid?

I have a couple of month's supply left from my DC1, and am thinking about using it again to try for DC2 but curious as to how much I'll be up for if we need another script.

Obviously I know we have extra costs of doctors etc.

Clomidquestion, the actual tablets are cheap. I took my private prescription to Asda and paid about £5 for 15 50mg pills.
