IVF or ICSI in May .. anyone else?

Hi I will be on short protocol this time, so will start on day 2 of period. Which should be around 4th May.

We have had a failed fresh cycle
and a failed frozen.

So this will be our 3rd attempt but I suppose only our second cycle as such! Depending on whether you count the frozen as part of the original fresh cycle.

I am 37 next month and Partner is 30.

Can also heartily recommend the book 'It starts with the egg'

Started the injections yesterday - bit of a wobble as to if Saturday was really day 1 - called the clinic number - reassured and have got started - eek now on the way!

Brilliant that it went well Simmy, not long until your test date then - fx!

Hi Bean, Daft and Disney. I also recommend the Zita West IVF book. I have also been listening to a IVF relaxation CD I got on Amazon, it has three recordings, one for pre IVF/down reg, one for stimming and one for post transfer.

Yay for first injection being out of the way Fruitbat.

**Trixie, thanks for the tips on the relaxing CD, I will be ordering mines today, feel that it will he beneficial.

**Disney you could consider having further checks done on the NHS before starting IVF. One of the main one I would consider is TK have your womb check to rule out obstructions etc. Could also ask you new best friend "Google" about other checks.

Ok had my first scan - 4 or 5 follies - my afc is 5 - so guess this is about right? - anyone know more?

I was hoping I could join you all? DH and I are just starting our first ICSI cycle. I'm currently on the pill before beginning down-regging in early June, and finding it all quite overwhelming emotionally.

It's really helpful to read all your hints and tips - am going to go and download those books! I'm sorry I have no words of wisdom as this is all very new to us, but thank you Hyland for starting this thread.
