IUI With Sperm Donor

Hi I'm turning 30 next year and desperate to be a mum but I'm not in a relationship and in all honesty, have no desire to be with anybody.

I am starting to seriously look into having a baby using donor sperm.

I have PCOS. I was put on the pill when first diagnosed a few months ago but have decided to come off it again. I stopped taking the last packed on December 10th and I'm yet to get a period (over a week 'late') I know that I'm likely to need help to ovulate.

Does anybody know if IUI with a donor is available on the NHS to single women? I know it is for lesbian couples in some areas but is there any hope with me being single?

You miiiight have a chance if you have significant fertility problems - so, effectively if you were asking for treatment because of that, not because you're single - but it's relatively uncommon for single women to be able to get NHS treatment (and in many areas even couples get little help), so be prepared to hear no (or for a prolonged fight). There's no harm asking, though, and you may be able to get them to do some of the initial testing etc even if they won't fund the actual treatment.
