Varicocele

Afternoon all, I'm just wondering if anyone has any stories good or bad with regards operations to fix a varicocele?
My dh was diagnosed in September with Azoospermia. He has had all the blood tests and ultrasound and we have our follow up with the urologist on the 5th Feb. In the meantime from something the ultrasound lady said and a little bit of help from Google we are 90% sure he has varicocele.

@MrsH14 ive just found out im in this exact position. It has been a very long time since you posted but hoping you have some good news to share to give me some hope?

Hi @IslaO, my husband had a stent fitted for the Varicocele but unfortunately that did not help with his sperm count. He had MTESE back in December of 2016 and they did manage to find sperm (5 vials). We decided not to pursue IVF and now live childfree (except for our 2 dogs). Always here if you need to talk about anything though as I remember how lonely and scary it was. Sorry I couldn’t give you better news.

@MrsH14 thank you so much for your reply and support. It’s all very new to us right now and in my rational moments I see the positives in living a child free life but then I also get overwhelmed with feelings of anger, upset, frustration, injustice. It’s so up and down and I’m sure when you both made the decision to live child free, it felt like a weight was lifted. Wishing you both and your doggies a very happy, fulfilled life xx
