...that your fucking period goes AWOL when you're waiting for treatment to start? It's always there when you don't want it - God fucking knows it always turns up - but when you really, really want to see it, where is it?

There are meds they can prescribe you to bring on a period. I take progesterone to induce mine. Good luck with your treatment.

Sounds like my life!!!! I have PCOS - 3-4 periods a year! Not great when trying for babies!! Have a 5 yr gap with no contraception used in between BUT now I have turned 48 I have a BLOODY period every 28 days without fail - WHY????
Good luck with treatment x

I sympathise. The same happened to me when I was waiting to start ivf. It was 3 weeks late- a scan showed that I has developed a cystHmm - something that had never happened before and hasn't since! It is typical.

Still no sign. It's actually only two days late but last few months it's been pretty regular. I've only got a finite window when we can have treatment or it'll have to wait till next year because of the Christmas break when the clinic is shut. Argh.

I don't suppose u could be pregnant could u?

Highlove · 02/11/2015 21:16

I mean it's technically possible, in that I have had unprotected sex. But maybe once or twice all month. In four years of actively trying we've never had so much as a whiff of a naturally-conceived pregnancy. So it's very very unlikely. And I have a history of irregular cycles so it's not even that unusual - just the last few months have been pretty clockwork so it's just typical I'm late when I need it to be here.

That said, of course it has crossed my mind and it's mesding with my head. Just one more of the hideous things about infertility - you never quite give up hoping a miracle might have occurred, do you..

I must say, I would just do a test- even just to knock the idea on the head one way or the other....

I'm not wanting to give you false hope of a natural conception BUT I hadn't had a period for 15months when a dear friend told me she was pregnant (and because I so wanted to be) I did a test and I was!! Quite funny going to doctors and being ask when my last monthly period was!!! One ultrasound later to date pregnancy and I was about 4-5week!
