Synarel - does it make you sneeze?

And does it matter? I've only used injections to down-reg before. But this time they've given me synarel to squirt up my nostrils morning and night. But minutes after doing so, I start sneezing uncontrollably, and desperately need to blow my nose. (if I lean back I can taste the stuff going down my throat, where clearly it can't do anything of use, but when I stay upright my nose runs and I presume must take most of the spray with it too).

I keep sort of sneezing through my mouth, to try to stop losing the medication but I think that's why I keep on sneezing, as I'm clearly not getting rid of the irritant! But does it really matter? How soon is the stuff absorbed? Will I get used to it and stop reacting this way in a day or two?

Any advice/experience welcomed!

Hi there, yes it made me sneeze uncontrollably too - all 5 times I cycled unfortunately! It also gave me awful sinus pain and headaches. Dont knwo why Im not particularly allergic usually to anything. But I was told it didnt make any difference and my down-reg always worked OK.

Ok, thanks Sunny. It's good to hear it still did the job.
I'll get back to drinking loads of water to try to avoid the headaches. I was more regimented about it when I was injecting - but somehow this sniffing business doesn't seem as medical so I've been a bit lax!

My first cycle it didn't make me sneeze but made me so dehydrated and headachey, my second cycle I'd squirt, sniff then sneeze (I once counted 20 sneezes which was beyond annoying) and then of course I'd have to repeat the squirt, sniff, sneeze uncontrollably process for the other nostril. If I was particularly snotty after a sneezing fit I'd re-spray through sheer paranoia that I'd sneezed all the stuff out (!).

I wouldn't worry too much about it running down your throat, Smidge - it's all mucous membrane and will be absorbed there too - I guess any that you actually swallow will end up being zapped by stomach acid, but there's an awful lot of mucous membrane on the way there.
